drake is the king of the music business
By RIAA standards, it is included. That's for certification purposes. It's irrelevant to Soundscan though, which is why if Neilsen reports him selling X amount of copies, then that's what it actually did.
Drake’s highly anticipated fourth studio album VIEWS dropped last Thursday, exclusively on iTunes and Apple Music, and has already amassed over 250 million streams!
In addition, VIEWS claimed the NO. 1 spot on iTunes (replacing Beyonce’s Lemonade) and has sold more than 1.2 million albums in less than six days.
CD's can usually do about 75 minutes before sound quality begins to suffer so that makes sense as my iTunes had this checked in at 1:10. Vinylwise (these days I am sure they will do a horrible mastered cash grab re: records) I am sure this would be a 5xLP or something equally stupidAlso it's not a double disc, I just bought the physical

At this point, I think streams should be its own separate category. It's definitely relevant information, but don't try to force it into sales when it doesn't fit. A sale is a sale, a stream is a stream.
Pure sales is albums sold and albums sold only, I don't know why nikkas finding this so hard to understand
Hotline Bling streams will factor into certification I think (not 100% on this) but they have nothing to do with and aren't factored into these first week numbers. 850k albums sold, with streams he's over 1m, it's really not that difficult.
I have to take issue with your insinuation that Buddens made any sort of coherent point in that podcast. The 20 minutes i listened to was the audio equivalent of this:I think that's what Budden hinted at on his podcast
Album was available for sale on iTunes. He went plat off of one streaming service
