Ehh :yeshrug:

A passing/P&R specialist who can shoot :patrice:

All time assist leader but was never considered the best PG in the league:patrice:

I'm kinda torn on this one my nikka :patrice:
He made all nba 11 times and was first team twice where he was the best PG in the league. Dude was on the Dream Team lmao, first ballot HOF. Averaged like 16 & 13 for a 10 year stretch while making all defense teams.

It's because his effectiveness is directly tied to Stephen Curry. We all saw his impact last year when Steph was hurt; minimal.

Look at the Charlotte game a week ago when Steph was out sick versus last night. 75% of his high assist numbers should count towards Steph's totals. He's a good passer but Steph gets him so many easy opportunities because he gets trapped all over the floor on and off the ball.

This is true but at the same time I also don't think you can just plug and play any role player into Draymond's role.
Y’all both right . Steph /Klay/Dray all compliment each other’s game at the highest level.

When building a team you don’t always go for the best talent but chemistry.

They match him minutes for minutes with curry in most games...

His impact is that he is able to turn steph into an mvp caliber player..
You joking ? :russ:

A lot of Dray assists come off two defenders going with Steph . Dray drives & gets to an open player . Hell that whole offense is centered around 2-3 defenders going to Curry .

The main issue with Draymond Green is that his game/effectiveness relies TOO much on Curry and Klay. And he's no longer a good three point shooter like he was in 2016. A lot of his assists are set up from a Curry double that leaves a big gap in the high post that gives Draymond an opportunity to make one dribble and pass it to the open man.

So as a result, he is offensively worthless without Curry.

He is still good defensively, at least.

Exactly. He's a good defender but his entire offensive impact is predicated on having nobody defend him because two guys are always running to Steph. People talking about watching games to say he's a HOFer though. :gucci:

He isn't breaking down defenses. Steph allows him to play with free runs to the hoop or guys wide open because opponents are staying with Steph on off-ball screens.

Dennis Rodman, half the 60s Celtics, Bill Bradley, Bobby Jones etc. are already in the HOF.

And I don't think they should be either. Obviously didn't see the older players but Rodman making it was a joke and I've said that many times on this board. :manny:

Is Draymond Green not one of the best defensive players of his era. How many guys have ever been more versatile. I don't understand why this doesn't matter for his HOF candidacy.

It is problematic to reduce his contributions to "a role player" when the Warriors depend on him for so much on both ends Even offensively where he is crucial to their read and react offense, helping Steph get open and capitalizing on the space that Steph creates by finding open teammates. It really doesn't make sense for someone to appreciate how good the Warriors have been in the past (as I think you do) and not highly value Green.

But Draymond's offensive contributions dry up without his great teammates. If Steph wasn't getting doubled all over the floor, Draymond would be a non-factor. Again, see last season. Is he able to help with his passing? Sure, but I think Aaron Gordon could do the same thing if he played with Steph his entire career as well. Instead, he's in Orlando with Elfrid Payton, Markelle Fultz and Cole Anthony for most of his career so nobody talks about him. That would be Draymond if he wasn't drafted by Golden State.

A lot of these arguments everyone's making for Draymond could be applied to Rajon Rondo and Shane Battier as well. They aren't close to being Hall of Famers either but you guys must think they are based on your reasonings for Draymond.
