Well said, what's even more laughable is the statement he makes about Nas just phoning it in with his later work. I know haters love to reach but they are going to new levels to bash the guy. Nas's last 3 solo albums have been all about pushing the envelope and the discussions in hip-hop exactly the opposite of him just doing it because he has to. Saying Nas is one of the guys who probably needs a ghostwriter just proves just how out there some people on here are.

Add the fact that the whole reason the 'ghost writing' bullshyt was even brought up is because of the comment about Untitled pushing the envelope as far as what a mainstream rapper is talking about.

I like the 'he smokes weed and drinks so he gets tired and needs help' line :wtf:

Unfortunately, I did read it. And it was garabage. Dude is a fukking moron.

:dead:

one thing i hate about this BS is how people i respect is accepting is at fact. i got a lot of love for that dude Jsmooth and its cool that he said he doesn't care that Nas used ghostwriters, but even that kinda accepts that Nas did use them. What happened to good old fashioned journalism? why can't we get to the truth first, then discuss whether ghostwriters is something that should or shouldn't be accepted.

some people accept that he used ghostwriters and think its bad, others think he used them and think its ok. both are wrong cause they are arguing a position based on a possible lie.

Real talk, I believe Jay Electronica wrote Queens Get The Money. I don't believe Stic wrote Untitled, and I'd imagine he wrote his own verses to the beats - which is what Dream heard. He also clearly wrote hooks and choruses but that's not a big deal.

even Just Blaze has more or less implied that its not true, and he was closely aligned with jay electronica for long periods. i just don't see how every credible person is denying this and yet we are supposed to believe they are liars.

I don't think it's fair to get mad at her for stating nas had ghostwriters, it just may have not been the songs she is talking about. I remember someone on SOhh was talking about this and named all the rappers who did it. People have to remember this is the music business and the money HAS TO KEEP COMING IN even when you can't rhyme the way you used to. Look at all the rappers who came out in the early years of rap who still rap the same way when times changed. Do you think Nas is immune to this?.

People forget when you smoke and drink all day, don't eat healthy, don't have no responsibilities it makes you lazy and you need help with records that the record company will be happy with. You may be able to do it for a few years but after a while you will need help unless you're a health nut and avid reader to always challenge your mind to help you spit songs. Even nas forgets his rhymes on stage so why don't you think he may need help with songs?

I love Nas' music but I'm aware that he may have not wrote a lot of his songs just based off of listening to his fresh material and the stuff afterwards. He sounds like he is just doing it because he has to. The same for other artist who been in the game for a while. Rap isn't like Other musical genres where you can make a 4-5 minute song with very little words. In rap you are using a shyt load of words and unless you have an extensive vocabulary and knowledge you will hit a wall and will need help.

I know it hurts you fellas but welcome to the world of entertainment where money is big and the dreams of the fans even bigger so you have to keep the ball rolling by any means. Record Companies would love to have an artist who loves reading so they can have an extensive vocabulary and be creative, love living life as a regular person to have something to write about, doesn't get high all day and be lazy, eat healthy and exercise so their brains are efficient, not have a big ego so they can relate to people through connecting with their emotions even if they didn't go through certain things or can only do music once in a while because it saves them money but unfortunately there are very few people in the world like that let alone Artist who want to be stars and have fame.

Don't hate on her and call her names just accept it for what it is and think maybe she is wrong in this situation but learn the lesson that needs to be learned especially if you want to be in the business.

:comeon: Stic-man already came out and basically said the chick was lying.

Just didn't imply anything, I'm not sure that Predator tweet had anything to do with this. Jay Elec told a blogger he wrote the song...

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I told you the lesson already but if you want to live in a fantasy do your thing.

Like I stated it may not be true but it still goes on and there is a good chance nas is one of the people who needs help.

If you knew what really goes on in this world, you would probably try to kill yourself because of the lies you were told and believed with all your heart but that is why God gave you common sense so use it.

There's a difference in what u just said and what a ghostwriter is. Someone like biggie writing a song, going in the studio and recording it word for word, then sending it to puff or Kim. That's ghostwriting. Diddy calling up a rapper and saying "write me a song about biggie dying" that's a ghostwriter

Nas, dead prez and some other people in the studio, drinking, smoking, playing beats and someone goes "Nas write a song about chicken" then Nas goes yea that be hot. Thn stic says, yes and the hook could go like this.... Then Nas writes 3 verses. Another guy says, that one line would be better if you said this instead. Then the producer says, nah we should get busta on it and he should say that line...............

That's called working together. That happens in every studio session ever. This ain't a mixtape. Go in with you and the beat and lay some shyt down and go home. These are albums. All those names in the credits mean something. All those people in the studio is putting in input. Unless u got all yes men. Those the artist that dont last cause they have no real critique/support system

The problem is not her pointing this out. The problem is the slick way she tried to point it out. As if dead prez walked in with an album for Nas and he just went in and spit. She tried to make it seem as if jay never gets help with one bar and Nas has ghostwriters.

As stic said before. It's amazing how many so called fans have no clue what producing a record really means. Y'all probably think Quincy jones just shows up with beats and mj just sang a 16 and went home. Then thriller popped out
