A lot of theories about shooting are outdated. Their are some basic guidelines but what is best is finding what works with your biomechanics. Too many shooting coaches have these crazy rigid instructions that are not applicable anymore.

Gilbert arenas said the same on his podcast.Stack Jack called out these trainers for this stuff too. Basically said most of the drills are a waste of time. Also said the best way to improve your game is to just stay in the gym and shoot around yourself.

Never paid a trainer for shyt he called them glorified rebounders. He simply stayed in the gym..he did adapt drills he thought made sense from others.
Kobe had no trainer either just a crazy work ethic. Trainers never played at an elite level they dunno what works.
