So why is xbox selling less consoels this generation and less than the generation before that if everyone is “staying put”?
Also the idea that xbox has just fallen off a cliff in sales this gen is also some made up sony stan stuff.
Xbox one was around 35mill 5 years in as well.
If you stop with the console wars and compare each to their own, all 3 have a bit less as time has gone on.
In a weird way Nintendo wins the console war in terms of raw sales numbers, but compared to their own best they’ve lost the most users.
Nobody will be honest about the industry cause everybody is trying to win the war for their favorite box![]()

You think that's crazy, ask him about the console generation before Xbox one.Console numbers across the board are down but PS5 is still outpacing the PS4 sales by 7% while Series X is 19% BEHIND the Xbox One. This was widely reported by Circana in March. It's very obvious who already lost the console wars this gen![]()

Microsoft says only 3% of PlayStation players to switch consoles if Call of Duty becomes Xbox exclusive | Game World Observer
The UK’s Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) overestimates the importance of the Call of Duty franchise, according to Microsoft. The company is now trying to argue that this IP won’t make most PlayStation players switch to Xbox.gameworldobserver.com

I don’t think you actually understand what this means
You are talking about the U.S. numbers. Worldwide is a bit different.Console numbers across the board are down but PS5 is still outpacing the PS4 sales by 7% while Series X is 19% BEHIND the Xbox One. I agree with you. The decision became so obvious to them they really weren’t forced to choose. Most people aren’t making a Playstation VS xbox choice either.
But that’s the narrative that helps some of you sleep at night.
We watched in real time as the PS3 sold less and the Xbox 360 sold more. We then watched the next generation where the Xbox One sold less and the PS4 sold more.No. This is the narrative you console warriors want to promote.
In reality when studies have been done by independent analysts and consultants they determined that people chose their brand/ecosystem and stay put.
Same way you can argue that nintendo has its base that’s catered to and unaffected by other hardware options. Sony has the same. And microsoft their own too.
This stuff yall fight about on forums is not informing the average consumer.
If you check 360 sales. It was at 40 millionWe watched in real time as the PS3 sold less and the Xbox 360 sold more. We then watched the next generation where the Xbox One sold less and the PS4 sold more.
Nothing i said, contradicts what he said.We heard Phil Spencer admit in an interview that was the worst generation to lose to Sony. So we should believe you over the company CEO? Sure you obviously know more than him.
“the nintendo consumer” means nintendo is in their own lane.I agree with you. The decision became so obvious to them they really weren’t forced to choose.
If you wanna sit back and act like Xbox wasn’t trying to appeal to the PlayStation consumer you’re crazy. It’s just that they mostly failed at it.
At this point the only people who care about Xbox hardware are Game Pass subs. Everyone else knows they’ll be served elsewhere.
