I asked why anybody would do this on twitter and the first thing somebody told me was "they're probably just using them for phone calls".
It's hard enough listening with the car radio. Why some dumass would use headphones is beyond me. Combine that with the old people and the immigrants that don't know how to drive, doing 40 on the interstate and slow on city roads, and it's a disaster driving. Trying to survive every time.

I have my headphones on but I do that because I don't feel like messing with Bluetooth in the car so I do it this way when somebody calls.
they COULD be using the handsfree earphone+mic option, but if your phone doesn't have bluetooth and you don't know how to operate it, you might as well just hang up.
