We're conflating 2 different issues tho. Being flamboyantly feminine acting isn't necessary for a male to be gay. I don't know where you're from but I attended urban black schools. Most of my peers had lost their virginity by the 7th-8th grade. I lost mine at 16 and felt like I was years behind. But that's hood culture, prolly not the norm.

You’re right, sometimes it’s hard to differentiate the correlation between femininity and homosexuality from the outside looking in. I have a nephew (who has siblings) who came out to my big brother and he was just shocked and confused at first because he didn’t display the ‘signs’ and seemed like the normal hetero teen that played a lot of sports. You wouldn’t be able to actively tell just by his behavior. We didnt even know he was secretly dating one of his teammates till his brother found some txts and snitched on him, so he was forced to come out. It was my first time actually seeing a guy be gay without the extra.. I was just talking to my babymomma that ppl like that are the potential makings of the DL black man. I’m sure any father (hell I would, too) rather their teenage son smoking weed than being attracted to guys. bad crowds, smoking weed, skipping school etc is a lot easier to deal with than being able to fix/change a person’s entire sexual orientation (something I still don’t think is possible.

In a perfect world yes, but the reality of the situation is that a big part of the journey that is adolescence is puberty and the changes that it brings.. 11-12 is around the time these kids first start to actually process their sexual preferences even if they don’t act on them yet, some of actually start fukkin in 6th/7th grade like u said, so I can imagine that a gay kid knows he’s gay around that time too and just keeps itunder lock and key until later.

Parents can decide not to let their kids smoke weed in the same way they can forbid their gay children from dating or acting on their impulses/affections until they’re out of the house.
