Re: post-ups

To be fair, Dwight came to LA and Kobe wasn't tryna hear any of that let me post-up shyt either and not bc Kobe didn't believe in bigs posting up. Then Dwight came to Houston and even in that first year before his back completely gave out, it was obvious that him in the post with that robotic jump hook wasn't really the wave for us except in small doses or vs the right matchup.

So yea, Jokic gets more opportunities bc Jokic is simply a more skilled offensive player that you'd be a fool not to run your offensive through... same with Tim Duncan and Shaq and Hakeem and Kareem. Ultimately it's on you to improve your game in the offseason to give your coaches/teammates/organization reason to trust you more.

He never developed any type of offensive repertoire. He played in an era with no other bigs, was the most athletic player and still couldn't dominate offensively, and that hurt him. He went to a new team and couldn't even do the same thing as he did in Orlando. Plus every C before and after has put up better numbers. Even his bpg don't measure up.

He wasn't the only disliked player in the history of the game. Plenty of people that are hated made the list.

It also says something about nostalgia and expectations. Anthony Davis is often criticized whenever he plays like Dwight or averages Dwight numbers.

Dwight's '09 Finals run: 20ppg 15rpg.
AD's '23 WCFs run: 22.6ppg 14rpg

Both great on defensive and the boards but can become non-factors on offensive if they aren't catching lobs or finishing/cleaning up plays right at the rim. But Davis gets killed for playing that way and not having the offensive run through him bc ppl know he's more talented than that.

Lol leave it to Dwight to make that dumbass logic for his case.

So because you scored on mostly lobs means you should get more credit than a dude who scores from all over the floor because he can make 3's and you only got your points from 2's?:why:

The fukk?

Does that not mean he's an objectively better basketball player?

Iunno about Dwight sometimes...

Dwight said Stan never let him work on jumpers. I think that sabotaged him. There's been HOF bigs who wasn't all pretty in the post but had something from 18.
There's footage of him working on J's with Pat, so I don't buy that.

Dwight's running revisionist history. Back when he was worth anything centers weren't even spacing the floor. Bynum shot that 3 at the top key and got immediately benched, that's a drawn play today. I don't know why he's upset at anything

He's probably upset at not making top 75 like he should've and channeling it into the wrong places like Jokic. He deserves more respect for sure, never really developed skill but his athleticism made him unstoppable regardless. Giannis is more than likely going to be the same way

His main problem is the controversies lasted longer than his peak. Like somebody said he only had 4-5 years of being top 3-5 before the back hernia. Throughout that he threw his coach and faith in the bushes, camping outside porn stars houses being a millionaire ball playing nikka. Damaged himself leaving ORL, damaged his reputation even more with how he left LA, got into it with D'Antoni because he was running through Harden more than him even though he wasn't the same after the hernia, on top of grabbing bench warmer's ballsacks. Went to ATL and they got rid of him ASAP for being a cancer, licking his fingers like a p*ssy to hecklers with the Hornets, tranny rumors in DC, purple dreadlocks.

He's a pariah in like 7 states and that's nobody's fault but his own :mjlol:

Yeah cause he never did :heh:

If Pat and D-Rob's robotic asses could do it so could Dwight. He was never going to be Dream doing the Cab Callaway on niqqas :manny:
Robinson and Ewing are face up jump shooting bigs not post up bigs.

Dwight also wasn’t anywhere near as bad in the post as he was made out to seem.

Those 2 not relying on traditional back-to-basket scoring doesn't mean they could not or did not post up. They were also still better than Dwight, though I agree his post game or lack thereof is exaggerated by dudes disliking him.

I wasn't old enough to appreciate Prime Wilt, Prime Kareem, Prime Hakeem, Shaq, David Robinson etc

:scust:

Dwight hs quickly gon from underrated to overrated. He was NOT on those dudes level.

He was not a scorer. That is a prerequisite to be considered with the GOAT centers. He is not on that tier. At ALL.

He was closer to Alonzo mourning than he was Shaq. Read that back, look up the stats, look up the accolades, and tell me I’m lying :stopitslime:

NBA 75 coulda went either way. He could have went in over a handful of guys for sure, but it’s not some grand travesty he wasn’t added. He’s not even on Moses Malone level who people really overlook. He was a 3x MVP and finals MVP. Knock it off

Someone fits this bill who has blocked the whole league from wearing his number ever again...
