It's like he read my mind on Dwight, no chance I want to pay this guy 118 million for 5 years instead of Brook who is 3 years 48m left.

That article completely ignores Dwight playing most of last year with that back injury. And spending the early part of this year hurt. Dwight started looking closer to his dominant defensive self later in the season and was a large part of why the team went on such a huge run to make the playoffs.

Yes his offense is still a problem but Dwight can completely be a defensive anchor. If you can put some shooters around him and in next year's offseason sign at least one star player to go with him then you absolutely want to have Dwight.

I don't think he's saying no one wants him, it's that all of a sudden that $118 million is not the done deal it was 2 years ago when he looked like he would average 25 and 15 the next 8 years. His injuries which have hurt his overall game along with the fact that he has personally murdered his reputation have clearly hurt his value.

He is a max player, but not the mega max player anymore in my eyes. I'd take him all day for 15 mil, but 5 years from now when he's making 25 million?

But someone will give him that Max deal, and we will see what happens. Does he get back to his old self, or is this what you're gonna get for 5 years? That will depend on the team he has around him too, Houston would be great for him since it's built like the Magic team he took to the Finals.

He started looking close to his old dominant self towards the end of the year and I fully believe with an offseason of rehab and conditioning he'll be back close to his old self. He definitely is not someone you can fully build your offense around. The Lakers are poorly constructed so next year will still be a problem. But the offseason after they can basically build from scratch if Dwight resigns.

Why is everyone so invested in Dwight Howard offense? Hes been in the league long enough, he is not going to get better. He is 28. Accept that hes a 15/10 kind of player who some games will get you 20-22 points and move the fukk on. Building a team around this guys offense aint gonna get you any where. If he goes to the rockets Asik stays Center I bet and Dwight will take a more Pau Gasol role except with half the offensive moves.
