This is why I respect the Black Mamba Kobe Bryant.

The guy has the heart of a champion. Dwight Howard, championship b-ball isn't about slumber parties and "Harlem Shake" videos.

Look at how dwade handled the Miami situation and look at how Kobe acted
He went out the way to alienate Dwight . While Dwight was a bytch for how he handled Orlando .... Kobe in la made sure Dwight wouldn't want to stay with him whether you like Dwight or not he's a season removed from being the consensus best center in the game , Comparing him to tc is a insult of the highest order . Would kobe like to be compared to IDK monta Ellis??

Does Kobe really think he's some sparkling example of lakerdom the guy who went rouge in a finals vs the pistons or tried to prove a point vs the suns in the playoffs by not taking shots in the second half ? He wants to win only if he gets all the credit and adoration so he didn't want to share any spotlight .... Hes not getting bron melo, who next season than can they get with all their cap Space better than d12???

Kobe has lost a step. 05 Kobe on that squad last year wins 50+ games even with all the injuries. Dwight hadn't earned "the man" status yet, period. If Dwight was out there putting up Shaq numbers/impact things prolly woulda been different.

It's true that he has lost a step. But he is clearly still an elite player and on a scale of 1 to 10 if he was a 10 in 05 through 07 he is still a strong 9 in my eyes. It would be one thing if he had fell off of a cliff and Dwight was balling out but that wasn't the case. Dwight is too immature too ever be a real leader to me. They talked about Lebron being passive but Dwight's lack of leadership is on a whole nother level than most players I have ever seen with the superstar talent that he possesses. I mean he's closer to 30 than 20 and he has not shown one iota of wanting to be a champion and being the most dominant player in the game. There is still time for him to do that but I fear Dwight just won't ever get it where it all clicks for him for like 2 or 3 seasons in a row.

:Cenashrug: he was the man on a magic team that should of beat the lakers. All we've seen from Kobe is he needs all stars and hof players around him to duplicate that . :skip:
And it's immature to negotiate your contract in the media what kind of backwards logic is that

Shaq didn't fall off a cliff before he left LA either. My point about Kobe's decline was response to your comparison of this situation to Shaq/Kobe. This was more so about Dwight and what he hasn't done than Kobe IMO.

Yeah how can Dwight expect anyone to think he's a star if he can't win with Goudelock, Darius Morris, Ron Artest, and a broken down Pau Gasol? How much more help does he need?

I know Shaq hadn't fell off but it was clearly time for Kobe to be the number one option with Shaq missing games and his body starting to break down. I mean truth be told Shaq only gave Miami one maybe two great season before he started to slow down and really become injury prone.

It was not as bad as Dwight's rep has become the last two years. His first year without Shaq they missed the playoffs and the league stopped mentioning him like they did Bron and Wade and Melo. But in 06 and 07 it was all about Kobe and how he didn't have any help. Never do I remember him not being considered a franchise player and one who could be the best player on a title team.

Shaq was always injury prone and missing huge chunks of games, that wasn't a new development. Kobe's coming off a torn Achilles, that's not necessarily healthy or speeding up. :heh: Kobe is pretty comparable to Shaq before he was traded. Howard isn't comparable to young Kobe though and that's the issue.
