Yea the story is a little disjointed but it's def there. Introducing new characters and plot points pretty steadily.

Pac Man had a story. Merely having a story isn't the point of contention. 
yea there's a story its just not any good.
Its better then what I expected considering the main focus from developers was everything but the story. The little cards on the biggie site explain a whole lot tho. People aren't bothering to look tho
that's the issue you shouldn't have too. a great game can tell a good story in the actual game. destiny wants you to look at apps, easter eggs and all this other outside of the game bullshyt.

I've played enough, and read enough to understand how the story plays out. By your own admission it's so shallow in game that you have to go to their website to read about it.
But beyond any of that your post was about how bungie marketed the game, One doesn't need to own or even play the game to have seen how the game was marketed.
Once again that question is merely a deflection to save face after your totally false statement was disproven.
