Very interesting. Now the question I have is did he REALLY plan this? Or is he just a really sharp guy who just happens to be doing a bit of damage control?

My main reason for considering the "damage control" argument is him saying "I said Sean Price's name purposefully because I knew his fans would respond like this". Did he really think his "minor league" comment out on that level?

The main strike against the "damage control" argument is that he really doesn't need to care. His bottom line isn't affected by where the records are coming from.

He didn't plan it...but he damn sure made it work.

Basically its nothing we didn't know.

Money makes the world go round but in 2013, we have no more excuses. You have the internet and INFINITE source of ways of getting music. Stop blaming radio.

If you're looking for enlightenment, go read a book.

yet, even on the internet we have channels and certain media sites which are the main ways into the listeners ears.

and people are accusing the blogs and hype machines on the internet as being a part of the same dame thing the radio is.

so the same obstacles for being heard are nearly the same one way or another. :why:

as I understand it.

He sounds even more dumb than he did before. Like he 'planned' all of it to somehow help Sean P? :rudy:

I do think Sean P is minor league, not because he isn't good enough to play in the pros to follow the analogy but rather he hasn't been brought up because well, hes not a jayz-/lil wayne type guy in terms of popularity. Thats it. Music wise he is major league IMO, the guy makes very good music.

Sean P is one of those guys that doesn't want to do anything besides make good music. Hearing the way Ebro explain how lesser known guys get into rotation (marketing plan etc.), it makes sense that Sean P. doesn't really get any looks on Hot 97. Thankfully Sean P. understands the game and doesn't care about radio play. More than anything he didn't like the "minor league" term. It's not that Sean P. doesn't get brought up, he's probably one of the 1st names that gets thrown around when those "why can't an underground NYC artist be placed in rotation?" conversations occur. Especially since he's established a loyal cult following.
