I'm sorry but I had hot 97 on a few weeks ago and I kid you not all they played was Drake, Wayne, Nicki, Mercy and some other artist featuring Wayne. Oh and they kept playing pop that by French Montana. When I say they kept playing it, it was like they would play the order of songs I just mentioned then they would play French. I'm not making this up or exaggerating in the least bit. That's honestly how it was.

I don't listen to the radio for that very reason on how Ebro broke that shyt down...mainstream shyt gets played cuz the masses keep listening to it and keep requesting it..it's common sense bruh..

He's basically saying that New York rappers have to blow up like people from small towns, through the internets. But I don't really believe him when he says that someone from Miami will get the whole south and someone from NY only will get the Tri-state area.
Atlanta records play Atlanta shyt, and then it picks up in different cities throughout the south and the country. Why? They are making catchy records. Unlike Joey Badass or Action Bronson etc. Movement type of rappers are not getting on radio until their movement has blown up i.e. 2 Chainz, Mac Miller or Kendrick Lamar. No matter where you're from. You won't see atlanta rappers without catchy possible hit songs getting on radio either.
In the end, if a rapper has a catchy song that caters to a lot of people (birdbrains, hiphop heads, average joes, women, girls etc) he will get radioplay.
