Educate me on how liberal economic policies help black males.....

do you know purpose and function of government? why would the goverment keep funding programs that would suit our needs when you have wealthy black folks who run independent towns by themselves?

The function of government is whatever the citizenry prescribes it to be.
I thought you were going to provide transcripts of speeches or documents outlining end goals or expiration dates for these programs.
If wealthy black folk gave a damn, these black run self sufficient towns would be a reality.
Take a hint from your surroundings, people dont care about their neighbors.
speeches and documents will not tell you why, these programs did not evolve.certain people put themselves as servants of the community. the problem with black folks is we are obsessed with doing every little thing for money esp when it come to our own interest. with white folks, they don't mind doing it for free
Where do you live? Just curiousIts really a question of 'what trade offs were made', not so much whether or not blacks were helped at all by these policies...
its also good to remember statist prefer to look at/frame these issues in terms of class not race, and enact policies that assist "the poor" not African Americans specifically.
Our unique set of circumstances and challenges are not just ignored, but obscured... which in my opinion is more dangerous to the AA community than overt bigotry.

Capitalism is more than an economic system; it has social implications. It pushes certain values in order to develop itself.
Marx thought that economic systems were the result of technology. He was wrong .China, 10 centuries before Europe, had the technological background necessary for capitalism. But capitalism didn't appear there at that moment. Why ? The cultural shift necessary for capitalism to grow wasn't there. Protestantism and individualism brought that shift in Europe. Therefore, capitalism emerged there at that moment.
Capitalism, as an economic system, will also shape the entire society : work, family, religion, etc. Christopher Lasch wrote a good book about it : "The culture of narcissism".
So a certain morality(individualism) is necessary first in your opinion? Before capitalism can flourish?

Yes. Individualism, among other things, is needed before but also during the development of capitalism. And capitalism will reinforce those traits in society that allows its development. So it's not neutral because capitalism will only flourish in certain societies and it will push certains values and exclude other values within that society. Capitalism will change society by its own dynamic.
