Kobe is a relatively efficient scorer given his volume and type.

It's just he's being compared to Bron, Jordan, and other hyper efficient players who score at a similar volume.

But Kobe is still pretty damn efficient.

Actually Kobe is more efficient than LeBron given the shots he takes. He just takes shots that are on average a much higher degree of difficulty. Now this hurts Kobe in the eyes of the analytics crowd. But when it comes to winning championships this style of play is actually more beneficial than LeBron's ultra conservative style.

In the NBA finals you're typically playing another elite defensive team. The games slow down they become half court and isolation in nature. "Bad shots" become typically the only shots that are available. Especially in crunch time. That is why a bad shot maker like Kobe Bryant or Kyrie Irving becomes so valuable. If you remember it was Kyrie that hit the game winning shot in game 7 not LeBron.

Its not hard to tell that the guy who takes and makes the difficult shots all season is the guy who will make them in the finals. The difference in finals record between Kobe and LeBron is a loud testament to that.

Also Kobe has more versatility with who he can play with because he was a significantly better shooter than LeBron. While LeBron needed shooters to space the floor for his drives, Kobe was able to play with dominant low post players like Shaq and Gasol that congested the lane and didn't spread the floor. This hurt Kobe's " efficiency" but it ultimately helped him win more titles since having a low post big is better for winning championships than not have them. LeBron doesn't have this versatility hence the reason he converted Chris Bosh from a post player to a 3-point shooter. Pair LeBron with a dominant post player and watch his "efficiency" drop like a rock.

I have to disagree breh. In his career Kobe dropped 60+Points 6 times. When Kobe scored 60+ points he only shot 40 shots twice, once when he scored 81 and his last game of his career. So he doesn't need to shoot 40 to get you 60. Also his shooting % is well over 50% when scoring 60. Kobe's gunning is exaggerated, he hits 45% for his career, which is excellent for someone of his style of play.
Good point my brother. Hence the reason why someone like KD should shoot more when he has it going which is basically my whole point. If he's shooting 15/25 why not try for 25/40 or some shyt like that.

I would LOVE to see Durant go all out too! I don't see why he doesn't, I know that he's not like that but sometimes we need to step out of ourselves and be like "eff it", and give a show. Lebron used do kill me with this, especially in the finals with Miami. There wasn't anyone who could match him (besides Kawhi) for the whole game but he never took full advantage of that. Remember the all star game when Kobe got mad at Lebron for passing up a chance to tie/win in the last seconds? Him and Kobe one on one, and he decides to force a pass that went for a turnover which led them to lose? that happened too often for me throughout his career and I felt that were the main cause of 2 of his 4 finals loses. But now? Bron doesn't care about efficiency like he USED to, and which IMO is why his haters like him now.

There are efficient gunners you know. Jordan for example. With that said, I'll roll the dice with a gunner, why? Efficient players tend to hit a ceiling and certain situations need to be forced in order to win. A bad shot I can live with, a good shot not taken because a player is trying to be efficient, I can't live with.

I automatically think of Kobe and Lebron. Being a Kobe fan wasn't for the faint of heart, often times you think :mindblown: when he shoots, but more often than not the result is usually :banderas::childplease: when the ball goes in.

Lebron (Miami) used to give me the same reaction when he didn't shoot in order to keep his FG% in check. Passing up good/great shots often times diminished his greatness, but the 2015 Finals made me love his game because he gunned because he wanted to win and that was his only chance.
This

I like Lebron's style because he doesn't have the most refined East to West type game where if he can't go through you, he has a hard time efficiently getting pass you.

Some times you need a guy to hit every open shot he gets when the game gets stagnant.
