I read one poster who made a good argument to this. Dude said he would rather be 3 - 13 than 8-8, 7-9. I can kind of agree with that. Pretty much tank and get draft choices.

As much as I know that Darnold ain’t gonna be shyt, he’s not the singular problem on that team. He’s out there because they feel they can live with the inevitable mistakes he’ll make. The team as a whole still ain’t shyt from the top on down.The plea copping for Sam Darnold had already begun yeah?
Russ had no problems winning a Super bowl with Javon Kearse, Robbie Anderson had a breakout year last year, Quincy Enunwa had his breakout year the season before his injury, they got 2 good RBs but Darnold has no-one to throw to huh

As for the Jets they don’t have a gamebreaker at any position. They have solid weapons who could compliment a better weapon, but on their at best they’re ehh. Enunwa is decent. Robby is a deep threat but that’s about it. Herndon is a rookie with potential. Crowell is talented but super inconsistent and Powell’s never gonna play for the Jets again which sucks. Kearse been mailing it in all season. The worst part about the offense is that free agency doesn’t have much outside of Tevin Coleman and they have bigger needs to address (like potentially replace 4 guys on the O-Line).
The Jets ain’t shyt still. We don’t need to lie about Darnold’s supporting cast to shyt on Darnold.
