The excuse I hear to the “why aren’t there more Black backup QBs” question is usually that teams don’t wanna have to switch up their offense for a mobile QB if the starter goes down. EJ seems like an ideal backup.

So why do teams with mobile starters have pocket passers as back ups?

Russ had no problems winning a Super bowl with Javon Kearse, Robbie Anderson had a breakout year last year, Quincy Enunwa had his breakout year the season before his injury, they got 2 good RBs but Darnold has no-one to throw to huh

Eli has been privileged enough to have led the league in INTs/TOs on the occasions in his career.

Now had that been a black QB, let him do that for just 6-10 games and he getting pulled and the question isn’t “will be play again that season” it’s “will he even be on the team NEXT SEASON?”

Has Eli won? Yes, he was lucky to Flash right at the right moment but let not pretend both of those years he was clear cut best player going up to the playoffs. He was who he was but his team caught lucky breaks and things just happen to “Flash” right
