I'm also no the biggest fan of the gameplay/combat style from BG3 but there's tons of way to approach a fight that can make it more fun for you. But if your issue is turn-based combat and click for movement, I don't think you are gonna get anything "better" than what it already is.
This might be a unpopular opinion but I feel like BG3 feels better with a controller. Menus are harder to navigate but actually controlling your characters feels more immersive than clicking around the screen.

ER is like 70% of reused assets. At least CP2077, E33 and BG3 are unique experience
E33 uses alot of store bought assets and bg3 plays like divinity original sin reskinned.

I dont understand the issue with reused assets if its done well, which elden ring was.

Preferred Rebirth over all of those games.

Cyberpunk 2077 would be up there.

Metaphor wasn't as exciting as I anticipated it would've been especially being from the Persona team.

I'd put E33 over Metaphor.

Yotei depending on how I feel when I beat it would be up there.
Also Spider-Man 2 is criminally undermentioned. That game was fun as hell.

It wasn't done well that's the problem. A lot of those fights are straight awful and was done better in their other games. Souls experiences are based on their bosses and if you have to fight multiple verisons then it take away from the experience.

BG3 and DoS are similar but very different from each other. BG3 is a lot more structured where was the DoS more of a sandbox

I was done well, thats fine if you disagree but clearly your opinion isn't the norm.

Yes E33 used pre built assets from the UE store and also A.I.

Look it up

It briefly had AI textures but that was patched out in literally the first week.

A ton of games use pre built assets, that's not the same as From using the same assets and animations across multiple games.

This would be like arguing people are cutting corners by using Unreal 5 or Havok.

And for the record I don't care either way, like I said I put nearly 300 hours into "Elden Ring".

I cant think of a single turn based rpg thats as similar as bg3 is to divinity, it plays more like divinity than the first 2 BG games.

Breh did you play "DOS2" or just watch videos?

It doesn't even play the same as the first game, let alone the same as "BG3".

I feel like using pre built assets you didn't create is worse than recycling assets you developed for another game.

Reusing assets is just smart game development.

I never argued this point, in fact I said I dont know what the issue is with assets flips when done right.
And for the record I don't care either way, like I said I put nearly 300 hours into "Elden Ring".
Then i dont understand why you quoted me to argue a point i never made.

I played the second one.

Name another turn based rpg thats more similar to BG3 than divinity.

Are you talking about a different DOS2? I legit don’t understand how you don’t see the similarities
:patrice:

Actually, you could make the argument that BG3 is more similar to DOS1 but either way those games obviously set the foundation BF3 is built from

Side note, this thread made me go boot up another run of BG3 lol

Similar like SF5-6, RE5-6, but they don't play the same. In DSO2 you could have every skill on any unit, all skills on at the same time, and cycle through abilities like an MMO. BG3 has a whole different set of rules.

Outside of being CRPGs, their game play systems are completely different. BG3 based off of D&D(lots of randomness).
