Nas is a MUCH MUCH better artist than Rakim....It's literally not even close.

NaS is like the more advanced Terminator, the liquid metal, shapeshifting T-1000 in the movie Terminator 2 and Rakim is Arnold, the original terminator. I think if they were to battle out in the streets Rakim would dust him just as Arnold did the T-1000 at the end of Terminator 2.....he created the style, probably a better battler......but in terms of albums, concepts, songs, Nas was influenced by his style and took it to places Rakim can only dream of.

Yep. At this point in the tournament, there should be no "easy" decisions.
Well, unless my man @Wacky D had let the GOAT Prodigy in the tournament :youngsabo:

In theory, but in reality I think people will rate different artists differently. I did find it quite easy picking KRS over LL as much as I respect him. But I think Rakim is such a dope MC, lyricist, rapper, artist etc I don't think anybody is just vastly better than him, I think with Ra it's more a case of material. If the album numbers were equal I could have well picked Ra, but he had a huge long ass gap, even Seventh Seal was many years ago now, that hurts in his rankings I feel but regardless what he's put down has easily been enough to show he's an elite MC and rapper.

Meanwhile, Nas is lasting in J-Cole, Lupe, and Kendrick's era
All of those emcees, including Nas have Ra's DNA in their Lyrical build.

Nas was influenced by his style and took it to places Rakim can only dream of.

:mjlol:

Arnold's terminator is the only one that is relevant though when its all said and done:sas2:

Y'all cats would have an argument if Ra was sounding washed on the Mic, but he's not. Damn near 30 years of spitting at a high level :wow:
