Absolutely, same with me, only time I've ever heard about that shyt. And am deeply and have been for over a decade involved with Hip Hop personally and professionally. I know a lot of true real Hip Hop heads and I can almost guarantee 99 percent of them if I ask them about that shyt would have no idea what I'm talking about.

Also when we talk about plants and shyt, don't think they not flooding and manipulating that shyt, cause they 100 percent are. Then we get fools on hear talking about "critical acclaim". That shyt is easily manipulating, dudes with no lives can form a team and create a multitude of accounts and just rate shyt 100 or 10 or 5 mics or whatever the score system is.

Edit: Obviously personally much longer, but professionally over a decade, but never heard of that shyt till here.
Metacritic just aggregates professional reviews. It's irrelevant because there are no credible publications when it comes to hip hop. What the New York Times, Pitchfork and Rolling Stone have to say mean next to nothing to me.

Yep, you see with the dumb Hipster types on here. They ain't no Hip Hop dudes in reality, talking about Metacrtic instead of the actual music. It's like a brainwashing thing to dismiss others opinions..

METACRITIC METACRITIC

fukk Metacritic, I'm Hip Hop. I can make up my own damn opinion, without some reviewer who most likely knows far less than me trying to tell me about an album I can listen to and judge myself.

I'm sure there's reviewers who are dope, infact I know there are. But most are trash that I've come across, you rarely get a truly Hip Hop perspective anymore. It's some next corrupted shyt in most cases.

Yeah, most reviewers I come across are wack. Rather than the avenue I tend to look at the person, firstly I always judge myself primarily, but IF I happen to check or come across the review I want to see credibility, how Hip Hop they are and what other shyt they like etc, and their personal integrity also. I'd be interested in some posters on here's thoughts before I would a professional reviewer in many cases.

I listen to anybody credible, whether agree or disagree, there was an album I remember 2 close friends of mine liked I wasn't really feeling, but due to me knowing they know their shyt I listened to the album several more times, I maintained my opinion in this case, but out of respect for them and their opinion I listened yet again. People know my integrity, character and brutal honesty so many people come to me wanting my thoughts on albums, their own or others, I remember my friend a few years ago showed me this mixtape, I heard it and was thinking, mm this shyt I'm not feeling, kind of average/sub par, so I said that, and he agreed, it was his cousin or something hyping it like it was the best thing since sliced bread lol, he showed me to get an objective honest knowledgeable opinion. I didn't want to offend him by saying this shyt wasn't very good, but I said it anyway cause it was my opinion. Got to have integrity, I hate all this falling in line bullshyt, I know many rappers too, I need to be able to tell them that shyts dope, or that shyt's wack (constructively if possible in the latter scenario) I've told rappers that are like family to me I'm not feeling their songs or they should alter or rewrite lines, got to be able to take that, plus that means if I do compliment it means more as you know it's genuine. Plus with artists it truly helps make them better, but they have to be able to take that constructive criticism IF it comes from a place of knowledge. Many have thanked me a lot for helping them improve or perfect their shyt.

Rakim came back after a 5 year hiatus(brought on by Eric B and MCA) and went Gold.

Also Rakim still has his soul intact...not quite sure I can say the same for Nas...

I hope he eventually got his back after this
:

yep and Cats forgetting Ra set off the blueprint for emcees like Nas, Jay and etc to eat off of the R&B collabs. He was the first to do that, on major records too

Prime Jody Whatley:noah:. Ra is the definition of complete emcee.

In eternal blackness, in the midst of the darkest night
Proteins and minerals, exist within specks of light
Solids liquids and gases, and sparks of light within
infinite lengths and widths and depths and heights
No beginning or ending, the seven dimensions
Enough space for more than a million words and inventions
To travel through time within enough room to be the womb
of the most high's great mind which he will soon make shine
With intelligent elements in sight that he will gather
In the realms of relativity electricity struck matter
Energies explode he below to keep releasin
Atoms by the millions, til the numbers increasin
Til it was burnin he kept returnin itself to the source
The hotter his thoughts it gave the center more force
He gave birth to the sun which would follow his laws
All caused by his mental intercourse, who is God?

rakim >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> nas lyrically

peep the rhyme schemes in this shyt.

rakim was 4 or 5 albums deep before nas era even began. of course he didnt last in nas' era. he was old school before it even started.

i dont care how much nas last album sold. hip-hop been over. i dont think youre fully comprehending my posts.

Meanwhile, Nas is lasting in J-Cole, Lupe, and Kendrick's era

Life is Good= 81 Metacritic score and sold 380,000 copies

The Seventh Seal= 59 Metacritic score and sold 30,000

like it or not, your opinon on this is pretty irrelevant since everything indicates that Life is Good is the better album other than Rakim stans and Nas haters.
Okay... so now sales matter to naS stans... what about when I compare Jay sales to naS sales, do they still matter?
