if you ever travled outside where you reside you'll know damn well that's not the case at all

there's an abundance of resources that are squandered by the top percentile/elites of the world, while people such as you or I fight for crumbs and a damn studio apartment

I go to the doctor like once every 2 years anyways. And my insurance comes out my check twice a month. So thats still a win... Bring on Universal Healthcare

obviously no one should be getting buried by hospital bills, but the fact that it costs something to go to the doctor...that cant just go away

imagine if there was no fukking monetary reason to think twice about going to the doctor or calling an ambulance, in a country of 330 million people?

good start, but there also needs to be a push for 100% paid leave for parents which is part of the root cause of this problem, people don't have the ability/can't afford to stay home and care for their kids.

Well, I live in Canada and we have universal healthcare. Getting appointments with specialists is hard. Takes months. Also hard to find a family doctor. And worst of all, it takes forever to see a doctor if you are rushed to the hospital with non life threatening injury. You will wait the entire day. People go to emerg with headaches, nausea, etc. Useless shyt they coulda just stayed home for.

With all that said, if you ever get sick, that free healthcare holds you down. The tests I have to do and shyt would have cost a fortune in the US.

So it is can be quite good depending how you look at it.

you're also paying taxes for kids to go to schools you're not using...you're also subsidizing the activities of corporations in your state who don't pay their fair share of taxes...you're also paying into a social security system that will likely fail before you ever withdraw a dollar of your money, but this is the tax that breaks the camel's back? making childcare affordable as long as there are taxes you'll be paying for something you don't directly benefit from
