it's a hybrid of both, like what exists today for most companies that allow leave...it simply needs to be standardized and mandated that all parents have a right to it...not just the ones who are lucky to work in cushy enough corporations.

Well, I live in Canada and we have universal healthcare. Getting appointments with specialists is hard. Takes months. Also hard to find a family doctor. And worst of all, it takes forever to see a doctor if you are rushed to the hospital with non life threatening injury. You will wait the entire day. People go to emerg with headaches, nausea, etc. Useless shyt they coulda just stayed home for.

With all that said, if you ever get sick, that free healthcare holds you down. The tests I have to do and shyt would have cost a fortune in the US.

So it is can be quite good depending how you look at it.

And Canada has a better doctor per capita ratio than the U.S. Have to keep that in mind brah.

good start, but there also needs to be a push for 100% paid leave for parents which is part of the root cause of this problem, people don't have the ability/can't afford to stay home and care for their kids.

Wifey stays home and takes care of my 3 kids.. I make 100K but I live in Cali.. I am barely scraping by in Los Angeles..

This shyt sounds like I would be paying hella extra taxes to take care of other people's kids. What about my family? Are we excluded from extra taxes or better yet does my wife get some $ for taking care of our own kids and saving the government money?

I hope ya'll know that if we get Universal Health Care, it's gonna take forever to get an appointment. Hell it'd be worst than the VA in regards to wait lists. This country just doesn't have enough physicians to account for that kind of increase in demand. You'd eventually be getting damn RN's providing primary care.

There will always be hospitals and urgent cares who don't pay the best,but pay nicely.If you are implying black people will be put out of jobs due to the competetive nature and racism. Hopefully we can capitalize and recieve some grants and open up more local black clinics.
