If those are the parameters though, it makes sense.

Honestly, we don't know what it's like to experience the equivalent of what is the XFL beating an NFL team. That's what the Namath led Jets did in beating the Colts in Super Bowl III.
yeah

You cant tell the tale of American pro football without mentioning Namath.

yeah, thats completely untrue. You know it too.

The Broncos had a top 10 defense, two times Elway made it to the Super Bowl in the 80s

And his Broncos were a TD favorite against the Redskins. :bryan:

this is the meat of it.

As of today, does Eli Manning have a Hall of Fame career?

this had a little

Is Favre on the Mt Rushmore of QBs? (POLL)

:dead: @ that one guy sayin the giants run game was good and didnt get enough chances to establish a rhythm. good lord. posts like those are why i hate team forums. the homer shyt is out of control.

seriously tho as much as I think elway is overrated, hes still very good. dont think when people say overrated mean 'bad' or 'average'.

elway would BEAST in this era of passing. shyt all the qbs from the past would beast.

montana would be arod-like. marino would be eli and peyton combined on crack. prime favre would throw some ints but hed prolly beat brees record easily. and so on...

one of those dudes said the Giants running game combined for 1,000 yards last year and probably looked and felt like this :smugstern: when he said it.

there is one cat who said Elway was a top 5 QB because of how talented he was and nothing else :dead:

I like posting on there because those dudes only follow media talking points and get mad when you post facts.

indeed, overrated does not equal garbage or not deserving of his HOF status.

And I was thinking about how good Marino would be in this era :wow:

He would have won a Super Bowl too

Threads like this are so stupid, everyone thinking there opinion is the damn truth, it's just a damn opinion.

Fact is, he was a great player.

I swear I hate when people try to act like their opinion on something so subjective is the end all and be all.

You complain about people bringing up their opinion only to site yours as fact.

I don't know why all of a sudden Marino playing on one dimensional teams some how changed in the playoffs.

You can't blame teammates when your sucking with them though

To his credit, he was 7-1 when his teams have up 21 or less in the playoffs

Overall, here are some QB's postseason records in those situations

Dan Marino 7-1

John Elway 10-1

Tom Brady 14-2

Joe Montana 12-2

Steve Young 4-1

Brett Favre 11-1

Bart Starr 8-1

John Unitas 6-2

Terry Bradshaw 13-2

Bob Griese 6-2

Roger Staubach 11-4

Fran Tarkenton 6-2

Troy Aikman 10-1

Ben Roethlisberger 6-0

Peyton manning 6-6
