The defense was better than any that Elway had :usure:
yeah, thats completely untrue. You know it too.

The Broncos had a top 10 defense, two times Elway made it to the Super Bowl in the 80s

And his Broncos were a TD favorite against the Redskins. :bryan:

Can you link this up? I would love to read this.
this is the meat of it.

As of today, does Eli Manning have a Hall of Fame career?

this had a little

Is Favre on the Mt Rushmore of QBs? (POLL)

extremely overrated. hes close to being part of the most overrated nfl trinity, which includes joe namath, lynn swann, and terry bradshaw. hes certainly better than those 3, but when people say hes a top 3, top 5, or even top 10 qb they are overrating him so highly its absurd

I think namath needs to have his own category. if I had to take a qb out of these for a game...Ill take everyone else before I take namath...

the one thing I will say about Namath is that he was injured most his career.

But that doesnt put you in the ATG rankings.

In fact, I would say Elway was more overrated than those all because people genuinely believe he is a top 5 QB.

here is the thing about the HOF... its the Hall of FAME.

That moment is the most famous moment in NFL history.

Im not saying Namath isnt overrated, I just understand why he is in the HOF. And its not like he got in 1st ballot.

hof implies an impressive body of work over a decent timeframe

if not, we can get people in for random famous moments. like david tyree or something

in fairness:
To be fair, Namath is also the first qb to pass for over 4,000 yards

I was going to mention this.

Also here is the HOF mission statement
To honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to professional football

To preserve professional football’s historic documents and artifacts

To educate the public regarding the origin, development and growth of professional football as an important part of American culture

To promote the positive values of the sport

You cant say Namath didnt do those. And for a 5 year run, dude was one of the 2 or 3 best QBs in the game.

fair enough. I still disagree but whatevs.

If those are the parameters though, it makes sense.

Honestly, we don't know what it's like to experience the equivalent of what is the XFL beating an NFL team. That's what the Namath led Jets did in beating the Colts in Super Bowl III.
