I despise the fact that so many put him ahead of Marino. It just baffles my mind how they could be "Witnesses" and allow how their stories ended to put one ahead of the other.

It's one of the few things in sports that legitimately angers me.

Word. Elway is 2-3 in SB's all time!

On the Redskins message board, I said Eli Manning has had a better career than Elway at similar points, and those old idiots tried to take my head off. I posted their season by season numbers and how they ranked against their peers, and they were still mad even though the facts were in their face..

Can you link this up? I would love to read this.

Anyone who tries to discredit Marino, because he never won a ring is uninformed and doesn't realize that football is a team sport, having the better player at Quarterback doesn't guarantee victory. Hell the year the Jets beat the Pats to go to the AFC championship was Sanchez a better QB than Brady?:heh:

Lets not over-correct, and underrate him either, by saying he was trash.
Who called him trash? He deserves his spot in the HOF.

That said, entering Elway in a discussion of greatest QB of all time is the very definition of overrating. His career doesnt merit that at all. He was one of the better QB's of his era. Thats all.
Indeed

:whoa:
Lets not carried away now. Elway would sh1t on Eli and put up crazy stats in todays era. How talented were those Bronco teams early on his career?

How talented were Eli's teams? Especially on offense.

I'm not anywhere near a Giants fan, but Eli is the reason we know Victor Cruz.

The Giants had NO running game last year and still won it all.

If only Marino could have been under center and turn his head behind him and see someone worth handing the ball off to during any point of his career.

I remember Don Shula saying something to the effect that Marino handing the ball off would be to the benefit of the defense.

All I could was smh. I dont think Shula cared lol

Marino

1992 - 554 attempts, 60% 4116 24/16 85.1
1993 - only played 5 games
1994 - 615 attempts, 63% 4453 30/17 89.2

The only thing Elway ever beat Marino in during that 10 years was throwing less picks, with less attempts and in 1990 he had a 1% point higehr completion percentage.

Thats it. Marino was a better in every other years on every other stat.
