I can afford to do both.

I don't touch my investments.
Same. My asset breakdown is 34% cash/20% in a bitcoin-based savings acct(4.5% APY)/46% investment.

I'm one of those "you never know" types so even though I haven't needed to touch my emergency funds, I still like to have them rather than draw from investments.

When you grow up, you'll leave them in jail. No grown man should have to bail out another grown man. His immediate family should do it. If you bail out friends those ain't your friends they using you. You're the "work nikka" in the crew. Street nikkaz look at me like "the king is still the king"...

im not a grown man lol, im a woman and im my brothers keeper.
aint got shyt to do with the streets or a crew :gucci:

plus how can i be used if i get it right back lol. stop projecting!

Except credit cards have to be paid back with interest. And the longer it takes to pay it back, the more interest you have to pay. And generally, if you could realistically pay off the card before interest accrued, you probably wouldn’t need to pay for your emergency with a credit card in the first place.
That’s how you get rewards. Pay that shyt off monthly and eat

True..

People always trying to claim one way is better than the other. Using outlandish scenarios..

yeah that's just a basic life lesson, everybody isn't the same
there's enough money going around to get it all kinds of ways
.....but you'd think with all the money bro allegedly has tied up somewhere he'd be happy enough to not be online calling people retarded and ugly :what:

You can tell when people that experience something for the 1st time and it pumps them up..

They shout it from the highest mountain.. :pachaha:

"HAVING $200K SITTING AROUND NOT COLLECTING INTEREST IS RETARDED!"

If you're not doing it like Suze Orman you're not doing it right.

The coli is an entertaining place.. More than any social media site I've ever been on.

I completely agree. That’s what we do. We got almost 2k from rewards last year. But we don’t use the card for emergencies. We put everything on it and pay it off immediately. We have a separate account for emergencies

I put my heart surgery on the credit card. Got mad points and 5% cash back. Just paid it off in cash that same week. Got a round trip flight from it :heh:

Damn... heart surgery?! Lol. Talk about rewards.

And let me clarify. We will use the credit card to actually pay for it. But the money being used to pay that balance off is coming from a separate account specifically for emergencies. So in that sense, yes we do use credit cards to pay for emergencies. We just have the cash available to pay it off as well.

This is what I do too.

I be flipping ps5s and xboxes and reap the CC rewards.

Same.

Plus.... imagine if you need a new roof for a new HVAC system...or any other major emergency.

Liquid cash is always great to have.

It sounds like last year i had 54% return on my investment with single stocks
You are the exception, not the rule. Maybe you’re just really adept at picking stocks.

Also, investing after stocks fell during the pandemic probably helped too. I increased my initial investment by 30%+ last year off individual stocks and it was my first time picking stocks. I don’t expect that to be the norm.

With that said. I’m not against putting most of your emergency fund in an ETF/Mutual Fund via brokerage account if you can handle a bit of risk. But I’d still keep a little on the side just in case. Imagine if people had their entire emergency fund in the stock market when the pandemic hit... then lost their job.
