My company just went Hybrid. As a result, I just started putting out applications. Hybrid sounds nice but I can imagine there being a slippery slope in the months to come. Company invested in more space during the pandemic. Everyone has to litmus test their spots to get a feel and I already know where this is going.

WFH is on my list of must haves going forward, especially after finishing my degree.

Good. More opportunities for me. Wall Street here I come

:blessed:

keep us updated on how it works out for you...

Finance is definitely an industry that would fight WFH tooth and nail......

That said hedge funds had traders working remotely for a long time without missing a beat so who knows

don't blame them, its now a requirement and not a "perk"

why should i drive a hour to work in traffic sit at a chair for 8 hours and then a hour home rinse and repeat 5 days a week for like 11 months of the year. When for the past like 14 months I worked from home perfectly fine with zero hiccups

I'd quit as well

Because the majority of people work because they have to, not because they want to. Eventually things will return to normal and people will have to go into the office. Some will work remotely but many others will not and may/may not have the flexibility to WFH 1-2 days out of the week.

Every company offering WFH will be slowly phasing that out.

I encourage folk to quit. People like me who are flexible will get the opportunities. You're not moving up working at home with 0 face time with your colleagues especially management.

Keep thinking everybody can just threaten to quit and these companies will buckle.

What they'll do is start eliminating jobs that may be considered ancillary, then they'll consolidate different jobs into 1 job with more responsibilities and less pay.

They'll also target Indian, African and Asian talent who have no issue coming to the office 5 days a week.

This. I swear people are dumb. Look at what companies have been doing for decades. Finding any way possible to reduce costs and pass on work to countries like China, India, etc and pay them pennies. But they won't do the same thing now? It's all about the bottom line...you got tech support workers giving ultimatums. :mjlol:

Because the land developers who build the buildings to house those people would be out of a job.. Then consider the jobs that goes along with maintaining big buildings.. Shyt be connected like a mfer but people hate to acknowledge whats really going on here..
Capitalism, right?

If we don’t need the jobs, why are we trying to save them? As long as the transition is slow, those people can find other jobs/projects that meet the needs of the market.

Ain't nothing like waking up 10 minutes from the shift start time in your draws with buggers still in your eyes and a fat breakfest sandwich right in front of your home office with the T.V on loading up a TV show why your in the teams meeting lobby with the camera off and your mic muted. :blessed:

You can do whatever you want breh.. Just make sure you have a plan..

If the businesses that thrived off of the workers who filled the buildings fail, then eventually the work from home workers will be worthless as well soon.. Now insert A.I or some foreigner in a distant land doing your job..

Sooner or later people are going to pay for this.. Just be happy with your decisions..

And on top of that, how many people are productive for all 8 of those hours? Do you know how many days I simply fukked around? There were countless days where I was done with my work by 11am. Now on the days I really had shyt to do, I handled my business all day. This was before my current position where I'm really not doing a whole lot during the day. And my co-workers who are busy all day, they're getting shyt done. I don't need to go back and a lot of my peers don't want to. 2020 and 2021 ripped off the WFH bandage that was already being peeled off very slowly.

That's coming regardless. There's a company out there with A.I. to handle office procurement.
