Well, I started a Black business. But y'all see how that goes in here.
It's a shame, too. Even after all this time I still get nothing but shade from a good lot of Black people.
It's like many of us can't stand to see examples of ourselves that buck the trends and deviate from the unfortunate norms that we've been conditioned to accept.

Let's hear 'em. Canadians, British, Irish, Nigerian or whoever else is welcome here.
I do agree with many of your points. We are not some monolithic small community. You can find black Americans across the political, economic, and social scales. Our differences are a strength. I want to see a community of diverse, happy, successful, intelligent brothers and sisters. It's not a matter of us saying that you MUST do something OUR way or you're a sellout, it's asking what you CAN do. But I don't want to ask Walmart to come help us out, I want us to build our own Walmart.
In my opinion, we can embrace the victim-hood deal a bit too much sometimes. That's what this thread is for. We need to be proactive, forward thinking, pro-people. No more asking for help. Building strong businesses and schools and homes is a very viable option for us. We have the money. We have the brains. We just need a plan that works. We need to be pragmatic and solutions based. The next time some brother is killed walking home from school, that's too late. When some 14 yr old girl gets pregnant, that's too late. We be mad about it afterwards but we got there too late to do change it. No more victims. More victors.
I'm gonna edit the first post and throw up any good ideas or websites you guys present so that newcomers can have easy access. Thank you all very much for your contributions.
What do you guys think of a Coli donation to something? Doesn't have to be a lot but I'd throw some money into a pool. We can vote on who it gets sent to.
I won the Coli Back to School competition (shoutout to @Brooklynzson) and am going to donate those supplies to some black owned daycare centers and a school. Have some old comic books sitting around I'm going to give them as well. Little donations go a long way with non-profits.
If you guys are a part of, or know of any black community organizations, please share. I live in Central California and am part of United Black Men. We provide tutoring for elementary, middle, and high school children, and have a community college program. Looking to expand. A lot of you in bigger cities have some options so share if you know.

If a situation like that were to happen, you should let the bank know. Contact the public relations department and get whoever repremanded. That type of attitude at the customer service windows does more harm than good.
Putting your money in a black bank is good, but things like this is why we need to join some orgniazation and operate as a collective. You putting your money in a bank is great, but imagine if you and 300 other people in the 100 black men of detroit organization all decided put your money in the bank as a group. It'd have a far greater impact, and you make specific requests of the bank to assist in some initiatives you might have. That way you still get to support a black bank, and they are forced to help black people in the community.

Do you realize how many other countries have been moving into Africa the last few decades to try to take over? Africa has the majority of the earth's natural resources right now. The same way the US was the new frontier during colonialism, Africa is the new frontier right now. The fact we have so much influence as blacks in America is all the more reason to go out there and reap the benefits

The number one reasons I'm not for "going back to Africa" is because that would be sayin' "Sorry Rosa Parks, it was too hard, we quit." No, we deserve to hold the judicial system, politicians and the economic sector to a standard when that take so much away from us.
