We need more motivational, political and positive raps being pushed to the forefront but nobody is ready to have that discussion. I'm always gonna be a fan of the gritty stuff but you can't listen to all of that stuff forever :manny:You also can't lie and say it doesn't leave a bad effect on listeners. People thrive on that negative shyt.
This is how I feel as well. I think the focus should probably be more on pushing positive music to the front.

That's what i've been listening to lately, i think people just want to listen to whatever they like. Most listeners might not be a fan of positive raps.

This is what happens when you support dumbed down (t)rap. Who's gonna speak out, NBA Youngboy? You think he's gonna make some political shyt

youngboy doesn’t make trap music

and why do you need a 20 year old to speak to you about political shyt?

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
90's got a lot of music like this though.

I didn’t say it didn’t. I mean muthafukkas attack the rappers who speak on shyt these days. Look at what JUST happened to J Cole for no reason. I DO miss the balance in the mainstream like we had in the 90s. The 90s was the GOLDEN ERA of Black entertainment all around. But people so quick to cancel muthafukkas these days a nikka can’t even get his foot off the ground. Too many people have a voice and platform when about 75% of these people shouldnt.

That's the youth or other people who probably listen to these drugged up rappers or the shyt has no meaning. Their voices shouldn't matter if they can't accept music with some actual meaning behind it. Artists need to keep pushing that kind of material whether fans like it or not.

Them Lo Lifes...
I do not know about anyone else, but i have been tired of listening to music about drug dealing and killing of black people for at least the last three years. It is not from me "growing up" but more so i could not reconcile the ideas of Black empowerment and improvement with music that has some effect on the negativity in our communities. We all know that at the almost all of Black people's problems are caused by outside forces (Systematic and institutional racism) but we need to look at how destructive music harms us as well.
People's have a choice.

It's no longer about the radio.

You don't like what you are hearing, why not just switch the station?

The mainstream media will program as they see fit for the masses to consume.

Speak about the progam directors, hold them accountable.

Hold the major holdings corps responsible who issues the playlists to the stations they own.

If overnight, conscious music was the shyt replacing murderous music, everyone from 21 Savage to YG to even fukkin Tekashi would switch up..

Because that's what the major media establishment will push.

Gangster street music aint popular, it's what's pushed.

Bro. It’s not just the fans. Have you seen some of these psychos on Twitter and social media? Literally offended by everything? I do think we need some more conscious music on the forefront. I mean look at the theme music for all these protest. For all the shyt and slander people been tryna throw on 2Pac’s name the last few years. He has literally been the THEME music and spokesman for this shyt happening right now. From his music to interviews. I think the right people will listen if the stations pushed it.

All this stuff was on the radio and tv too. I know people think that shyt is :flabbynsick: now but having shyt like this video next to straight gangsta rap helped get both messages out there so people could pick which one they wanted to follow. We got the most access to music ever now but the bullshyt is still mostly in the mainstream. There’s so much great music being passed on and missed because people haven’t discovered it yet smh. I’m not talking about J Cole or Kendrick, I’m talking about others
