The whole revenue thing is a copout, this isn't about money at all, it's about basketball and on the court stuff only. Not how many schools you open, charities donated to etc..
you can't compare financials of the nba from the 70s to now
Lew had an aging big O then he left, and mgmt never got the neccessary talent for Lew to succeed while he was the best player in the league. He had to contend with the lakers in the west with wilt and other great teams.
Not to mention Lew played 6 season in milwaukee and won 5 mvps and went to 2 finals.

MJ was taken after Hakeemare you being serious? Dream in his second season beat the defending champion lakers and took 2 games from a top 3 team all time in the 86 celtics. He was railroaded by cokehead teammates and injuries.

HAHAHA
PLEASE ELABORATE.

?? huh? i thought we were discussing dream and lebron? What does MJ have to do with that? I'm lost BMJ was taken after Hakeem![]()
LeBron has shined a brighter light on the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the City of Cleveland, than ANY NBA player selected #1 overall has done.
On the court, he already has given them 4 NBA Finals appearances in a Cavaliers jersey, but the sheer amount of exposure and $$$ he brings into the city puts him over the moon when it comes to comparing him to other #1 picks.
Cleveland is known around the world, and mainly because of LeBron James
No other #1 pick has, basically, single handedly revived a City on it's last legs as LeBron has done.
We could've been Detroit![]()

How is Dream the GOAT #1 pick when he wasn't even the best player in his draft?? huh? i thought we were discussing dream and lebron? What does MJ have to do with that? I'm lost B
@Newzz i'm not denying what lebron has meant to ohio as a whole, but he's from here. Imagine if Lew was drafted by the knicks in 70 and played alongside walt frazier and they moved willis reed to PF, along with dave debusschre, phil jackson and the crew. :sas:

I THOUGHT THIS WAS JUST ABOUT BASKETBALL.

For instance, a 2010 study by The Plain Dealer and economists showed James played a "key role" in $200 million in downtown spending annually, including $150 million during the playoffs.
LeConomics: Is the economic impact of LeBron James' return to Cleveland more than a feeling?

More then Tim Duncan who never left and got five rings with his team and never had a season below 50 wins? It's clearly LeBron.
LeBron did more in Cleveland than any other #1 pick has done for the team that choose them #1 overall.

Why is dudes in here arguing about financials and all that shyt just to try to spin it in Lebron's favor. @FTBS has the best answer. If it's strictly for the franchise that drafted them it's clearly Duncan then Magic (only giving nod to Duncan for longevity) then probably Hakeem. If it's for overall career regardless of team then I got Kareem, Duncan then Lebron. Again longevity plays a factor and both of them won more titles over while Kareem has more MVPs as well while Duncan's 20 straight years of 50+ wins while also helping transition Spurs to be successful after his career over puts him over Lebron overall.
