Fell off after Max Kellerman was fired.

I'd argue it fell of a decade ago. It peaked during the Tebow/Heatles era and gradually declined from there, the insertion of Max brought some life back in it but SAS's ego after repeatedly being sonned on race-related topics destroyed that dynamic.

Shannon has always been annoying to me and is ridiculously overexposed these days so I haven't bothered to check the show out with him on it.

Background noise that no one watches despite having good ratings seems apt at this point.

Yea Shannon is far more interesting on Nightcap. But again Ocho has a different vibe than Shannon so it works. Shannon doesn't really bring anything new to first take.
