every women thanks me when I press button/let them off first. Dont let her attention seeking ruin being chivalrous
I’m just clowning and talking, homie. I ain’t gone let something I see on twitter or social media stop me from being me. I’m going to continue being chivalrous, not only because I was raised that way but also because I feel it’s the right thing to do.

What? Are you looking at this from a female perspective at all?

In the scenario that I'm leaving an elevator to get to my apt and a man gets off with me...I'm NOT supposed to fear the possibilty of being followed to my door because white people are uncomfortable around black men?

Break it down for me a little more for me, cause I'm really not understanding the outrage in this thread. :ld:
No, im not looking at it from a female perspective, or male perspective for that matter. Im looking at it from a black person perspective and when i see a white/asian woman talking about being uncomfortable about certain people's presence I immediately go on alert because i know how this goes.

Youre adding extras to this hypothetical to try and solidify your position. The white/asian chic talked about riding in hotel elevators with men, not unknown strange men in buildings that they live in. The white/asian chic told men that when riding elevators with women to press their buttons forst and exit the elevator first as a way to appease a woman's potential uneasiness. I dont see why a black person would cosign that knowing that our mere presence alone makes non whites uneasy. The only reason that you and jemele are cosigning because she made it about gender and not race but race is obviously a factor.

Since I aint with the rape shyt and aint awkward i dont have to worry about women feeling a certain way. If they do,Thats on them.

Ill give em an inch of sympathy but not a mile. It aint that deep. Carry a hammer. Take a karate class. Travel with secuirty. Foh

as young black boys we already have to sit through the talk about how to carry ourselves so we don't get killed or locked up just for being black. as adults it gets no better. we always have to go out of our way to avoid being wrongly accused or worse just for existing. i started to get annoyed about what she said, but then was like fukkit...no one has it worse than us. they would never understand. we still persevere though. won't let bs like this get me worked up

Damn this whole thread needs a Paul Mooney wakeup call. First it was fear of black men, now fear of all men?
[Paul Mooney rant]
So now all men are the boogie man??
You walk by a woman and they grab their purse all funny. They make you feel guilty you didn't snatch the shyt.
True story I am taking the metro to a work appointment. I get off the train in my suit I am late so I am running. A woman is late so she is running too. She sees me and turns and runs the other way......

I chased that bytch for 6 blocks!

The average man is not thinking about y'all when we get in an elevator, the assumption that we're inherently up to no good is the same assumption that whites make about black people looking suspicious. When all they're doing is literally just existing.
Exactly. That’s why people have their faces planted into a cellphone or have on headphones. Nobody is thinking about you. I’m normally looking down or away from the other person in the elevator anyway... it’s on you if you think I’m trying to hurt you.. In reality I’m just trying to get to my floor.

I appreciate your response but I never agreed with the asian lady.

That’s like me saying I’m afraid to drive because of all the police shootings

Yea it can happen, but to be so scary about it is child like

Women are our children, when will you stubborn knuckleheads get this

Alot of you men don't realize the bad energy you give off anyway based on your inner anger, and inner negativity.
So for many of these women its simply their intuition telling them that you have a bad energy that needs healing.
They don't need to be afraid of a rape, but for women who are in tune they aren't wrong in feeling your negative vibes.
Jemelle is obviously not in tune and doesn't have a healthy way of understanding what she may be feeeling.
I get this vibe often but as a man I simply ball by fist up and get prepared to swing for the fences,in case you have a negative energy that manifest itself as violent or disrespectful versus sadness, hatefulness and depression.
