Low Key even though nas shytted on the whole ROC he gave Beans the ultimate co-sign in Ether...I used to argue with dudes at the time who refused to acknowledge that Beans was the truth...after Ether I was like I told y'all 
On the surface Ether was just average to good IMO but beneath the surface it really burned Jay-Zs soul to the core. Between those 2 individuals that was the illest diss & Loss that Jay could have taken because Nas attacked Jay-Z ego and conscious.
Jay, who was in the media front at that time completely disappeared off the map and went into hiding for about 6-9 months while Nas took the thrown and was on every radio show interviewing & was in heavy rotation. Nas took everything Jay claimed to be and snatched it away from him in one day I mean it took Jay years to build that and just like that a couple of lines killed that . All the money didnt matter, his responses made him look like a sore loser, it was a complete humbling sonning & Jay apologized just like Nas predicted It changed Jays life & he hasnt been the same since
