ima knock you out.
i like lewis.
i like lewis.
It is a damn shame that Bowe-Tyson, Lewis-Bowe, or Tyson-Lewis (when Tyson was closer to his prime). I do remember back then it seemed nobody wanted shyt to do with Lennox at all though.
It was not fear, it was all politics and ego as has been mentioned here already. Tyson was in Don King's camp and he was making dudes sign their careers away to him in order to get a Tyson fight which Lennox would not do while Bowe's manager Rock Newman was a total asshat.
You can't tell me that Riddikk Bowe was afraid of Lennox Lewis...the frequency with which you dudes are quick to question a pro fighter's heart is astounding.Wrong. On Bowe at least. Bowe wanted NO parts of Lewis. Zero.
Bowe was scared he threw his belt in the trash on camera, he aint want it........................Neither were scared, it was politics as usual.
Bullshyt man if a fighter want a fight promoters will step aside, people always use this bytch ass crutch to protect their favsafraid? Boxing is just too much. Someone is afraid to box someone? Nah. Just stupid politics. Same shyt that took that sport out of the mainstream's eye in the first place.
yeah lewis of 92-93 would have prolly gotten beaten by the bowe of 92-93...lewis was wild in them days.slow no chin or stamina having Frank Bruno was giving him a sound boxing lesson before bailed himself out with a hail mary left hook...its almost night and day if you compare lewis pre and post McCall ko lossYou can't tell me that Riddikk Bowe was afraid of Lennox Lewis...the frequency with which you dudes are quick to question a pro fighter's heart is astounding.
Rock Newman made the decision that Bow would not fight Lewis because Rock was a dikk. The Lennox Lewis at that stage of his career was more than likely going to get worked over by Bowe anyway. The best thing that ever happened to Lennox was being dismissed by Tyson and Bowe back then because that Lennox Lewis was nowhere near the dominant Lewis that he became once he hired Manny Steward and developed a fighting style that made him almost unbeatable.
Lewis only losses to himselfyeah lewis of 92-93 would have prolly gotten beaten by the bowe of 92-93...lewis was wild in them days.slow no chin or stamina having Frank Bruno was giving him a sound boxing lesson before bailed himself out with a hail mary left hook...its almost night and day if you compare lewis pre and post McCall ko loss

Maybe Bowe would put up a good match if he didnt already get his ass whipped by LL and wasnt terrified, but whoever thinks any version of Tyson beats Lewis doesnt know shyt about boxing. From early on Tyson Achilles heel was size and length, if Buster Bum ass Douglass could give Tyson the boxing lesson of his life why not Lewis?
Also from amateurs to pros fighters rarely change stripes, the constant battles and activity build those fundamentals, they may get slightly better in some areas over time and with age, but if you have a fighters number thats usually doesn't change. See Forrest and Mosley....................
You said it yourself pre prison the big guys took him to distance, in ugly mauling fights thats my point, the bigger guys could lean there weight on him and weather the early storm and survive.........Tyson pre prison handled the big dudes...other than buster douglas who literally had the stars aligned for that fight..no other big guy came close in beating him on the cards...at best they won like 3 rounds max..if they went the distance like bonecrusher, green, or tucker kudos but they were far from close fights..well ruddock won more than that but thats because of the points taken away and overall punch fukkery that was their 2 bouts..buster was a good fighter he just had no desire..he didn't love the sport and that was his knock..signs of a classic underachiever but he was talented and he put it all together for one night
amateurs to pros do change yes...some little change, some change big time..some dont change at all....there's no common denominator...forrest and mosley is just one very unique example of somebody having someone's number in the amateurs and the pros..its not common...look at bowe himself..bowe was beaten soundly by jorge luis gonzalez in the amateurs...they fought again in the pros..bowe learned the pro game, gonzalez didnt and took the asswhoopin of the lifetime
u think arum would do bussiness with may?Bullshyt man if a fighter want a fight promoters will step aside, people always use this bytch ass crutch to protect their favs
Bowe ducked Lewis for years refused Lewis then threw his title in the trash, what more needs to be said............
Same shyt with Manny pulling out over drug testing, coming up with every excuse hiding behind Arum and such, he aint want it....
But a fighter with balls like Chavez jr who Arum tried to protect from Sergio, Chavez aint want it one bit, he forced Arum to make the match. What don't people understand that promoters work's for the fighters, especially high level ones like the Bowe's, Pacquaios, and Chavez of the world....................Not to mention Bowe had plenty of time to get a LL match after this debacle, but nothing..............................
