It's hard out there man. Good luck to you all, keep at it and don't get discouraged.
When these topics are posted I'm surprised no one brings up finding a job or entry level gig at the profession you want

That shyt is depressing. I cant count how many rejection emails i got from doing apps.
Problem is, these professors think that you gotta keep your head in the books all the damn time and think that their class is more important than anything else. Its a contradiction that harms the students more than anything.
Job hunting with a degree is beyond degrading. Insulting, in fact. You followed your teachers, sacrificed time with your loved ones and associates, sacrificed your damn hobbies, and even you humanity, and you can't get a damn job!? They lied to you. They cheated you out of memories and experiences that you can never regain! You gotta be pissed off at that.
Bruh you telling the truth here..when I moved to NY and started working on Wallstreet I was intimidated as fukk, at least for the first 3 months, soon after A lot of my coworkers who had fancier degrees than me, were running to me to check their work
...fukk around and started getting out performance awards and shiit, I know it made some of them sick to see a young black boy from the south come through and crush the buildings like that.
I definitely agree, luckily I had some mentors who put me on game early and told me to start looking for them..And that shyt is basically responsible for where I am now. I'm on my little cousins neck right now about applying for internships or co-ops.

I always recommend linkedin (plenty of jobs, groups, recruiter contact info)....got plenty of interviews, my last job and my current job because of linkedin
I'll try to divulge more about this without telling who I am. I work in finance and didn't know that much about internships until my junior year. You must have internships in order to make it in the corporate world.
During one of my finance internships a mentor got me, i was the only black intern with 3 black guys working. One was cool the others in high positions were c00ns. Literally made fun of black ppl for laughs, I got into at dinner with one BC he was trying to exclaim that white ppl could say ****** with no problem. Then on top of that he was describing an incident where he said those no good ******s.
I couldn't take it anymore, I went off on his ass literally full on yelling match in front of everybody. But I was truly scared I realized. I realize if I wanted to make it I had to kiss ass like him and pander to their egos. This was a grown ass man who in no way shape or form mind could of been changed, he was gone and he was a "successful" black. I was sad for him and myself.
So I joined a smaller black firm and took the chance. Part of what I do we have to network a lot. We go to this meetings with rich white ppl like the ppl with real ass money. I introduce myself to these motherfukkers and they look me up and down
. They won't even acknowledge our presence when we speak to them. Like flat out ask them questions and they will not respond.
maybe 10% will do business with us

I'm just saying man its a catch 22 out here u either c00n or try to make it while they push u down. Going out and doing it is way harder than u thank so all this black business talk is good talk but the walls built up are way higher than most can even imagine.

blacks that majored in a STEM major are most of the tapdancin sambos in their workplaces. Slaving away for $50K 
just to shyt on other young blacks that graduated with non-stem degrees.
I graduated in December with a degree in advertising and just started my job couple weeks ago. Took me about 2 months to find a job aftr graduating and sending out apps since november and going on 4 interviews.
We gotta go thru so much bs just to get a foot in the door of everything.
First interview: phone interview, another phone interview, then an in-person interview. Those fukkin cacs picked my brain nshyt for a good 2 hrs. Then, the next week the cac dodged my call and sent me an email saying I "didn't seem like I wanted the job enough" fukkin job was paying $16.82/hr doing some accounts paybale bs
second interveiw: Cacs picking my brain again about dumbshyt and then this nikka ask me some retail math question that just sounded confusing af and made my ass look like a dumbfukk that couldn't do math.
so no job.
third interview: Did a phone interview, then video interview. bytch kept telling me she was trying to contact her hiring manager. Kept reaching out to eachother for 2 weeks then finally, the position vanished off the site
Fourth interview: just shot my email online. Did phone interview, written assignment, in-person interview, then another final interview. and got the job

pretty much. gotta get that money how you can. use whatever gift/opportunity God gives you how you can to get that money. the game is rigged but once you're armed with that knowledge, you're already ahead in a way.either find glitches to exploit in the game or refuse to play their game and pave your own lane.
