Does this work out pretty well for you? I've been going really hard for the past few months bulking (3 hard days/week) and I've put on close to 20 lean, solid lbs. Been making great strength and size gains but my elbow's been killing me. :sadbron:

I've been debating taking a few days or a week off to recover everything but I kind of fear losing my gains. I've taken a week off before in college and it actually worked out pretty well but I wasn't bulking then. Maybe I'll take this week off. :manny:

I just posted about this in the random thoughts. Taking a week off was the best thing ive done. I came back lifting heavier on almost everything across the board. Rest isnt a bad thing

I took about a week and a half off and revised my routine to not aggravate my elbows as much. I talk about what I did specifically in my workout log. Been at it for a week and a half now and so far its been pretty good.

My thinking on it is all broscience but it works for me. Lifting is a huge stress on the body. Its hell on the joints and hormones. As you get older you need more recovery. And everyone is different. So if your body is telling you to take time off... take it :damn: You got the whole rest of your life to make gains, better to take time off now than risk a permanent injury

Taking weeks off when you are not injured? :stopitslime:

You can't add by subtracting brehs. :upsetfavre:

just go and keep it light/deload.

I don't know, krack. My right elbow's been killing me for weeks and my left shoulder has been feeling like it's about to give for the past month while I've been bulking. The elbow's been on-and-off since college but the shoulder thing kind of came out the blue. Knowing how I am, I'm more likely to just give myself an extra 3 days to recover and then picking it back up at the end of the week or the weekend when I'm feeling more up to par.

Usually when I don't have it that day, it's before I actually get to the gym. Once I actually make up my mind, arrive at the gym and get dressed, there's no turning back after that.
