Many years ago i worked at a supermarket. I worked the produce department. Im in the cooler, with the forklift, about to put a pallet of some stuff on the top shelf. I was skipping songs i my ipod , not paying attention, and raised it to high. I ended up caving in part of an air duct right where a fan was located. The fan kept spinning against the bent up air duct, sounding like a goddam machine gun. It was LOUD, you could here it all througout the whole building

It gets better, a few member of the family that owns this chain of stores was there for a meeting. (Wegmans)

It gets even better. To operate those type of forklifts you had go through in-store certifation training as a sefety rule. My lazy ass dept. manager never bothered to get me certified, so he had to take the blame. He was mad as fukk and wanted to discipline me, but couldnt do anything, because officially on paper he did that shyt

They never let me use that forklift again.

lowkey operating a forklift can be dangerous AF. I'd post some YT videos but that would blow my high RN :russ:

I’m gonna have to read the article.

And homie needs to be thrown under the jail. I don’t care if they trump up charges to do it
The relevant parts.

"While Lakshmi waited for the freezer’s manufacturer to come perform repairs, her team added a safety lock box around the freezer’s outlet and socket. A warning was posted on the freezer, according to the court filing.

“THIS FREEZER IS BEEPING AS IT IS UNDER REPAIR. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE OR UNPLUG IT. NO CLEANING REQUIRED IN THIS AREA. YOU CAN PRESS THE ALARM/TEST MUTE BUTTON FOR 5-10 SECONDS IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MUTE THE SOUND,” the warning read, according to the suit.

But, on September 17, the janitor heard what he later called “annoying alarms,” according to the suit. In apparent attempt to be helpful, he flipped the circuit breakers, which provided electricity to the freezer, mistakenly turning them from “on” to “off,” according to the lawsuit. It said the freezer’s temperature rose to -32 degrees Celsius."

Old job. I had missed the deadline to transfer hundreds of millions of dollars for municipal funds and I have no clue what it was going to affect. A lot of bounced checks and failed payments in a particular city I’m guessing.

Edit: I was covering for someone that was out and I had to reach out to my manager for someone that could push the funds through although it was passed the deadline. Crisis was averted

Another thing from my old job...

The company would have an annual business meeting at the end of January. Same time every year yet people would wait until the last minute to submit print/shipping requests. I was only 2 months in when I first dealt with this madness.
This cute white/asian mixed chick (who was new herself) comes down the Monday of the very last week with a request. Shorty however was full of herself and thought she was better than everybody else. I unfortunately would have to deal with her bullshyt the next few years. lol
Anyways, she requests hundreds of glossy booklets but she wanted a fancier stock than what we had. We get it ordered but she doesn't show back up till Friday (the very last day smh). We run a sample which she approves then start printing the job. The glossy paper unfortunately is too slick and it starts fukking up our machines. We gotta call the tech out to the site and she starts annoying him with questions. We ended up getting multiple people on the job just to meet the deadline.
A week later, shorty comes back saying the majority of her books were useless as the trimming cut into pages. As much as we tried to argue about the ridiculously short turnaround, the big bosses don't wanna hear none of that shyt. :francis:

Not me but this Spanish dude I use to work with. We was contractors for dominion energy fixing street lights. We finished all our work, so our supervisor gave us another light to look at :shaq2: . We pull up to the light in the neighborhood and set up the cones and shyt. He gets in the bucket truck and goes in the air

As he is in the air checking shyt Im sitting on the back off the truck on my phone.

All I hear is this loud ass boom. I look up and see a little bit up smoke & the dude starts coming down. This shyt happen in front of somebody house so they came out like yall good :dahell:? When dudes gets all the way down Im like wtf happen :mindblown: ? He shows me the volt meter and it was blown up. Like 10 mins later a group of people start walking down the street toward us. When they got to us they said there power went out :dead: .

We had to call our supervisor and he pulled up in like 10 mins. He called dominion and they had to send somebody out there to fix the transformer fuse

After that was done we had to speak to dominion on what happened. During the weekend our supervisor said dominion might terminate our contract. :damn: . We was out of work for a week :to: . I started applying for jobs asap :pachaha:. During that week off supervisor met up with me & the dude and we had to have a phone call with corporate to explain what happen. When we finally get back to work supervisor said they fired dude. He was there 11 years :mjlol:. We had to have a safety class on what not to touch on the power lines. Like 6 months later when it was time to renew our contract they didn't :mjlol: . This was 2020. They asked if I was willing to work in Baltimore on the night shift :mjlol:. I said 'fukk outta here, let me go collect my unemployment :umad: "

According to the article they had signs and a lockout box over the switch for the fridge but the janitor flipped the breaker to cut the power.

Sounds like the janitor went out of his way to turn the fridge off.
:jbhmm: usually when something is locked out tagged out the power is already cut. But yea if he did all that, he might be prosecuted.

I haven’t made big mistakes, maybe a few thousand here and there but I knew someone that made a million dollar mistake. Basically delivered an ad campaign meant for a year in like an hour.

Aight so I havent shared my fukkup at work yet...

and it was exactly this...

Instead of spending a million dollars of budget in a day (instead of a year)....I basically spent $150K of budget (meant to last a month) in 3 days.
Blew through the budget over the course of a weekend.

Dawg I tell you when I got to work on monday morning and saw that I had screwed up...I blacked out. One of the worst days of work of my life. Had to tell my supervisor and the company CEO

it took every bit of goodwill I had slowly built up across 4 years for them NOT to fire me

We lost the client

Half a year later I left for a new job. I never got over it
