When I bought my first business it was a chip/tortilla vending route. I was stocking product and doing very well enough to hire someone to do it for me.

52 year old white man approached me in one of my stores asking about my job and I told him I am the owner. Hired the dude to drive the box truck and stock chips while I worked other stores to get them to stock my product.

After a few weeks he asked how I got into working for myself and we talked.

White man told me something very revealing I will never forget to this day.

"We as white men fail upwards. We are very aware that if we hire a woman or a person of color they will come to that job and outshine us because we set the rules for you to deny you as much as possible. We know when you get on the job it will embarrass us because we don't have to struggle and can continue to be mediocre". We are also very cruel to our own whites as well.

We expect white people to use their whiteness to open avenues or get jobs when we know we don't have the credit, connections, means or intelligence to get on our own merit. We expect to use whiteness as a means to be human when it's we whites who will quickly discriminate over stupid fukking reasons just so we can keeping failing upwards. When I was looking for work I couldn't get any acknowledgement or even a chance from fellow white people but I spoke to you for 10 min and you offered me a job. You didn't owe me shyt but you have given me a chance when my fellow whites just turn their back on me."

I sold the business to him for a much higher profit and we still talk to this day. I am actually going over to his house to watch the Game as his wife wants to cook for me this Sunday.

My first business sold is now his sole income and he has 3 people working for him now.

If you want to know, those same "white folks" I talk to I tell them the same shyt I say here. I'm not skinning and grinning and pretending to be some soft negro who just wants to get along. That same cat I sometimes talk with was checked by me one time for saying something I thought was funny.
