I don't have a gun for personal reasons (father got killed by his own weapon in house by another family member).
But it's time. What's a good starter weapon?
I've read that shotguns are good for home protection but I want a handgun too. Gonna cop a biometric safe too.
Shotguns are great for home protection. They’re inexpensive, reliable, and intimidating at close range. You can easily go to your local sporting goods store and purchase one for less than $300. In MOST STATES, there’s no gun license or permit required for shotguns and rifles. You will need identification, and they’ll just run a quick background check to make sure that you’re not a felon or domestic violence etc.
I do not like the biometric and battery/electric operated safes. I have a decent sized safe with the traditional combination dial to store my firearms and ammo. I keep it one number away from the full combination, in case I have to open it fast.
With the fancy security type of safes, what happens if the batteries go out, the circuit malfunctions, or someone bashes/destroys the interface? Then you just got a big ass piece of junk that you can’t open when you need it.
