Seems that way, but remember, everything is quick in this age….I remember waiting for years for an album, its a hyper aware, piercingly fast era for EVERYTHING, movies, music, social relationships in general, what other era could a 'friend' mean someone you know through an ex's cousin by marriage or some shyt? Or giving condolences as easy as a click or two? And for rap, online and I think a marginilzing of the genre in general, have created a time where albums, songs, mix tapes may come and go in conversation and message boards, everyone one to the next thing. As the fans demand it, the artists respond, and so on, and on. You have to enjoy and appreciate music in a way comfortable for you, I refuse to be one of those people close to 30, who stopped keeping up with the game 7 or 8 years ago….I have to enjoy the music my way. I'm still fukking with 'Furthest Thing' and 'Too Much', 'Hold On', and some other tracks from NWTS….

Breh even the hip hop main stays are struggling. MCHG and Yeszus have come and gone. The Marshall Marhers sequel has come and gone. Wale, J.Cole, ASAP Ferg you name it....

I feel like we're too quick to move on the next album or the next sound and continuing to chase it as opposed to letting things marinate and part of that is because the artists have adapted to the instant, fast food, gimme gimme gimme entitled generation that compose their fan bases. An album can last as long as you want it to and that's what ultimately measures its staying power. I still play albums that came out years ago; some of them dropped before I was born and many dropped in my pre teen or teenage days. At the end of the day, quality is king and if you put out a dope record in 2009, it should still be dope in 2014

The Rick Ross album isn't even highly anticipated.. That's my nikka but it's going to come and go.

Lupe? He dropped some gems last year that came and went.

TDE won't get release dates outside of Kendrick

Meek Mill's intro better be incredible because outside of that the rest of the project won't stick.

Nas's last album was tough but even his loyal fan base isn't purchasing his music and this generation isn't really anticipating it either.
