Emerging artist Kori James may be a name not familiar to many, but with the release of his new EP Tomorrow, things are sure to change soon. Previously delivering the single and visual to his track “L.I.T.A,” which is an infectious love song that should be on your playlist right now, James quickly became an artist to watch on our radar.

Speaking on the project, James stated: “The Tomorrow EP was born during a break in my creativity. I had a lot of moments where I faced crippling doubt about whether I was good enough to do music at all. I don’t have the sound that’s on the radio right now, and at 29, I’ve yet to get the coveted placement that solidifies a songwriter in the industry. I seriously contemplated conforming. Working my 9 to 5, and living for the few moments that made that reality “okay,” knowing it never made sense for me. That space was becoming even smaller, more claustrophobic, once you consider the rate so many black men, unarmed and innocent, have been murdered recently. My fear of becoming the next hashtag made me question whether any of my efforts would be in vain, if my fate was to end up dead at the hands of an officer. But, the melodies kept coming. I continued to create, most times, without any direction beyond raw emotion. I continued to write, and Tomorrow kept coming.”

With tracks like “N.E.Way” — which also has a new video too — and “Beats a Broken Heart” accompanying the aforementioned, this project will give listeners the opportunity to experience the different sides of the newcomer. A great project to hit play on a cold night, Tomorrow just might increase your chances at cuffing this season.

Take a listen to the project and watch the video for “N.E.Way” below.

On Friday (Nov. 18), Holliday took his singing inspiration up on his offer and shared the stage with him at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit.

“Getting on stage is one thing,” Holliday told ABC News who filmed the whole process from rehearsal to the performance. “I love the stage. But being on this stage, just the magnitude of that, is kind of…It’s kind of a god send to me. I was going through a lot of stuff recently. Life was getting down on me a little bit. All of a sudden this crazy thing happened to me.”

Aside from being a singing cashier, Holliday is also a member of the funk band Tell Yo Mama. They recently earned a new wedding gig due to the viral sensation. Meanwhile, Maxwell and Mary J. Blige are on “The King and Queen of Hearts World Tour,” set to run through Dec. 14 in Chicago.

Watch the surreal moment come to life below.
