Love is human intellectualizing of basic chemical reactions that behoove us to reproduce. That a few individuals choose not to have children doesn't change the in principal outcome of sex.

I have a question for you, personally. Do you think animals and humans are essentially the same or do you think humans are a degree (or more) above based on what you just said: "animals lack of the abstract concepts and emotions we have", and our "higher level of thinking"? The rest of your questions in that paragraph are 100% valid as well IMO. Why don't animals show these emotions and we do? Seems to me like we're definitely different. And where we differ are important matters! Morality, civility, etc.

What does evolution say about these huge differences? This isn't minor stuff here and I don't think it should be brushed off as easily as it has in this thread.

as far as your question are we the same? yeah? :leostare: I mean we have the same ancestors. I know it seems like too extreme a difference but its really just your perspective fukkin it up. for example, you'd agree that big cats like lions,tigers etc are related to house cats right? obviously. but think about how stark the difference in size, strength & carnage is between them. a lion could rip you apart, a cat would just leave you pissed and a little red. I'd say that makes that extremely different, wouldn't you? :usure: and yet they're related... so if relatives in the animal kingdom can exhibit that extreme a difference in carnage, then why couldn't a similar difference in intelligence exist? :mindblown:

So you're saying evolution has no explanation whatsoever for love? Like there's no such thing? There's this major part of the human experience called love and I'm asking you it's purpose in the evolution ideology.

So I understand sex from an evolutionist's viewpoint but I don't understand love. People don't just have sex, they usually have sex with someone they love or care about.

Yeah but people come in all shapes, sizes and colors too. Mike Tyson can beat the shyt outta you but the dorky kid McLovin, prolly not. Yao Ming is 7'5", Muggsy Bogues is 5'3".

We're all made up of atoms, no doubt, but when atoms are put together obviously they can do different shyt. And if I could jump off topic right quick, what about plants? I know their cells are different from animals, so are their ancestors the same as ours? If so, when did the split occur?

And now back on topic, another major difference between humans and other animals, the one this thread is about, is love. Animals have sex, no doubt. Do you think they fall in love? Dogs fukk anything with a hole. Humans consider this immoral. So why does evolution halt itself and not have me busting up in every fertile womb I come across?

Wouldn't that be good for the cause? :shaq:
