Um...yeah at least in mine we had one. We're from x neighborhood and we had pride in that. By sense of community I also mean things like block parties, cookouts, coming together on July 4th and etc. There's none of that in the suburbs.

i would prefer an black suburb or a suburb with a significant black population to a hood....being hood usually means low income...i'm trying to live comfortably without sacrificing black essence.

The hood is terrible....but it teaches you things that you could never learn anywher else. Informal learning is just as powerful if not more than safe, clean schools. Buts thats all if you were taught to be an observant, critical thinker.

People in the hood are also more genuine too. I mean sure, people front in the Hood. But people aren't gonna go 400k in credit card debt just so little Amber can have the latest Kate Spade and the wife can have that new kitchen she always wanted.

The level of fronting and posturing in America's suburbs is some of the most vile shyt. People out there are so convinced of their own BS that it becomes their reality.

I like the fact I can walk around my neighborhood and see people living life. There is the occasional violence but for the most part it's gotten way better than the days of open drug running and corrupt police precincts.
