Exclusives are a GOOD thing and without it, gaming would be WORSE off.

Would you prefer a game not exist at all instead of it being exclusive?

  • Yes, I rather a game be exclusive and exist than to not exist at all.

  • No, I want games to be everywhere and to stifle creativity *hides Xbox logo on shirt*

  • :mjlol: Sony stans

I think emulators are amazing, but sometimes there's just some games that aren't good on there. I had issues with quite a few games that just didn't work as intended. SMT V, TOTK around launch and a few others had issues where I just said fukk it I'll wait. Even old PS1 emulators can have problems. Imagine getting to disc 2 on FFVII to Gaea's Cliffs and your entire save file/app just randomly gets corrupted :mjcry:.
TOTK works great now.

Just had to wait a few weeks and get the better experience on PC :blessed:

It's absolutely FOMO.

Especially how console heads will spite themselves to beta test play these games early while the PC version gets exclusive features in a definitive version in a year.

There's more games releasing than time to actually play them too.
Breh, what are you talking about lol? Now it's spiting yourself to play a game at release on console because in a year or later, a more definitive version will release?

What about the patient gamers who waited to play TLOU Part 1 on PC and got some bullshyt on release?

So everyone who played Red Dead Redemption on PS3/360 were beta testers and only the true gamers who waited until 2025 got to play the best version?

It’s an objective fact games get cheaper and better over time.

Not gone say early adopters are “spiting” themselves, but once you let go of the FOMO your gaming life will improve :ahh:

Dudes scoff at this kinda stuff but when we end up wherever we are going they are gonna wish they purchased their games through the xbox store.

The first game i ever purchased on XBL Geometry wars like 25 years ago is still playable right now on any device i chose to play it on. That’s amazing value to me as a consumer.

It will be stuff like that, that differentiates the platforms going forward as content becomes pretty much the same.

We talking about exclusives here.
I agree 100%, and this is exactly why Sony is starting to fall behind.

While they’ve focused on 500-million-dollar budget cinematic exclusives, Microsoft has quietly built an ecosystem that respects the consumer’s long-term investment. Being able to access a game like Geometry Wars purchased decades ago on any modern Xbox or PC is wild. That’s real value.

Sony’s closed approach might have worked when exclusives were king, but we’re entering a new era where platform flexibility, game preservation, and service infrastructure will separate the leaders from the legacy brands.

Once people realize they can’t carry their purchases forward or access their libraries freely, they’ll wish they saw the bigger picture. This isn’t just about exclusives anymore—it’s about sustainability, access, and respecting the player's wallet. Buy Last of Us 2 nineteen times brehs

You're disingenuously cherry picking extreme examples. PC releases weren't as mandated back then as they are now.

You were bragging about being able to play Yotei and DS2 on your PS5 this year as a perk over PC gaming. We all know these games will be on PC next year with the latter eventually coming to Xbox.

So how much of a benefit is *timed* exclusivity really when it's just a glorified early release, with the definitive version releasing on PC after?

It’s fine to say FOMO is the reason you own your console. That’s not even a bad thing. If you find value in that great.

Works both ways then, you played Clair Obscur day one on Game Pass cuz of FOMO. Had nothing to do with being a "free" rental. :manny:

This thread is about “exclusive” games tho.

Yall playing lose with the term “exclusive” so you can preserve your talking point.

Just say you love your PS5 so you can play the occasional game before everyone else :manny:

Nobody's playing loose with the term exclusive. You literally created this hype angle cuz DS2 and Ghost of Yotei this year kill all of your 'exclusives don't exist' talking points.

Just say you love your Xbox cuz you can log a couple hours on a few games for "free" :manny:

A lot of these guys are buying these games at launch just for them to go into their endless backlogs, where they don't even get around to the game for another year.

By then there's already been multiple sales and re-releases of the definitive version.
