Nobody's playing loose with the term exclusive. You literally created this hype angle cuz DS2 and Ghost of Yotei this year kill all of your 'exclusives don't exist' talking points.

DS2 and Ghost of Yotie will find their ways to other platforms. DS2 will even come to xbox.

We used to call those “timed exclusives” and they weren’t seen as valuable “Real Exclusives”

You're disingenuously cherry picking extreme examples. PC releases weren't as mandated back then as they are now.

I literally have had experiences that were absolutely mind boggling. I posted that here I believe too, where my cousin's PC could NOT play Elden Ring at all for some reason despite him being able to play other games with no issues. The game just kept running sub 20fps with hella stutters and nothing we tried fixed it. He just gave up and never played it even though he had a capable machine(I think he had a RTX 2060). I love PC gaming but please let's not pretend that shyt is pancakes and syrup.

There are still some annoying issues that sometimes doesn't plague console users but the overall experience makes up for it. I still can't play Shadows on my PC with AMD Framegen unless I have to deal with the game just freezing after 10 minutes. Am I saying every console port is perfect? No. I already know y'all gonna start posting about FFXVI and Rebirth's performance mode bluriness on the base PS5.

You were bragging about being able to play Yotei and DS2 on your PS5 this year as a perk over PC gaming. We all know these games will be on PC next year with the latter eventually coming to Xbox.

I wouldn't call that bragging, I'm just literally saying that I can play the game at launch without waiting as I want to play it. That's a perk, I don't have to wait. Now if you don't really care about Yotei fine you can wait but that's not everyone.

So how much of a benefit is *timed* exclusivity really when it's just a glorified early release, with the definitive version releasing on PC after?

I ask you, what is the issue now with playing a game on it's release date? Someone here said, the definitive version on PC.. Who's PC? Everyone's PC isn't a high end gaming setup equipped with a high refresh rate monitor, ARGB case lights and AIO coolers. That's not everyone. "PC" is not a singular box. I had no issues playing God of War Ragnarok, Horizon, Astro Bot, TLOU Part 2, Ratchet and Clank etc at release. Were those glorified beta releases?
Now it's FOMO and a bad thing to buy a game on a console day 1. Amazing. I guess you should go tell everyone in the Clair Obscure thread they're just FOMO gamers wanting to be apart of the conversation, they should wait until 2027 for the La Belle Epoque edition with La Maison expansion pack.

I saw Sinners when it came out, I failed. I should've waited for the digital release so I can watch it at home while eating cajun cauliflower wings.
The Imax Coogler vision was just FOMO wanting to watch it in theaters with other people.

I'm waiting for the RTX 8090 TI edition, I'm not getting caught up buying no damn GPU day 1. Actually, I won't ever buy it, because I can wait for the 9090 TI. Actually fukk that, I'm not buying anything anymore.
