Exclusives are a GOOD thing and without it, gaming would be WORSE off.

Would you prefer a game not exist at all instead of it being exclusive?

  • Yes, I rather a game be exclusive and exist than to not exist at all.

  • No, I want games to be everywhere and to stifle creativity *hides Xbox logo on shirt*

  • :mjlol: Sony stans

shyt is nuts, nikkas in here talking about "Yea you're supposed to wait 10 years to buy stuff cause it'll be on sale"

TF wrong with these folks

You were actually better off waiting a year to play Wukong with how so many people bushed the game at launch due it not having a map until this year

No, I had plenty of fun when I played on release. Just cause you need a map doesn't mean I didn't have a blast playing it.

I never experienced the game without a map since I only got around to it this year. But I saw a lot of frustration online.

Cool, but I'm not one of them nikkas. I didn't make a "wrong" choice because I played it on release.

A lot of these games were patched and fixed by now.
but they were out on PC with the expectation that they should be superior to the console version. Why wait for the "superior" edition and then still have to wait because something was broken?
Just like how it took Sony a couple months to fix the crashing in Returnal or blurry performance mode in Horizon Forbidden West in the NG+ update.
and? I still enjoyed the game on PS5, even with the blurry performance mode because I played it on quality mode at launch which was fine. Crashing on Returnal didn't happen to me to where I noticed it. I think the game crashed on me once or twice in my hours of playing. It also had the same issue on PC.

And let's be real, a lot of console games performance mode is only achievable with heavy compromises.
Okay? It comes with the territory. You can't have your cake and eat it too on consoles. Even on PC you can't, you just have the option to spend more which is being left out of the convo. I can play Claire Obscure at 4K/ 60+fps on my PC, but my GPU alone cost more than PS5 Pro. I know what to expect on a console.

Patience is rewarded in this hobby, and in general with tech. Nothing wrong if you can't wait, but call it what it is.
This is video games we're talking about. Not every game or hardware is a rushed product that is better if you wait. Imagine if you waited to buy a Series X because "patience is rewarded", now that shyt costs more than a PS5 Pro.

Sure there's games like E33 and GTA6 that are more difficult to wait for. But there was virtually zero benefit to playing FF16 early. Good game but a lot of better games out there that I could've played before it while waiting if I was an Xbox or PC gamer.
There was a benefit, I enjoyed it the hell? I don't care about FFXVI anymore to play it again. How is this even a conversation? You can say it's zero benefit to play any game at launch because you can wait and play something else. Why even play games? You can wait till 3 more years to get an even stronger build and play games at 8K, 240fps. Them SNES nikkas lost, I'm playing Super Mario in 4K.

No one saying it's wrong. It's all relative to personal preference.
Correct, so there's no need jumping in here talking about FOMO and wait for 2 years, etc. I get your point, but to say "The only reason you're playing that is because it's on PS is goofy.

You asked what is a good reason for someone to play a game day 1 instead of waiting down the line for an "objectively" better game either in updates or a PC version(if you have the means).
I said for enjoyment since that's what we play the games for. You say that's a strawman. :dead:
And where does this say early adopters aren’t enjoying the game?

You guys played FF16 day one. Later on it got objectively better on PS5.

You very well could have enjoyed your time with the game, the late adopters just got it for better and cheaper.

Now knowing games get better and cheaper over time. What reason do you really have to pay full price day one?

Newsflash, most games get better later on. This is a stupid talking point that's birthed out of trying to find a reason to hate.

"Late adopters just got it for better and cheaper."
Yeah, the late adopters for the Series X would like a word with you.

They got the game later, I got the game earlier because I value my time. Why wait and create a crazy backlog with long ass games? There's periods where I have more time to play games, waiting is not worth it if I don't have the time to *drum roll*, enjoy it.

Also, games with replayability and more content doesn't exclude people who got it day 1. I can still play anything that got better nowadays. That's why I bought the games. If COD gets a big balance patch with new content, I still am playing it so those changes still benefit the day 1 guys.

You and others are literally in here saying that no one can enjoy games anymore cause YOU believe it's all for online clout.

Don't blame others for the mental gymnastics y'all are going through

I bought oblivion remastered, day 1. I think I've made 3 posts about it, but guess what, it's fun as shyt.
I don't know why y'all gotta be so all or nothing, I didn't say no one can, and I didn't say it was for online clout. You interpreted it that way.

I simply said the way people buy and play games would be different if they couldn't get online and talk about it before and during the release.

The fact you and ya boy twisted that to something else is crazy. You think these social media "influencers" and personalities are getting codes for games just because? :beli:
