That's kind of the strategy Sony doing now. Put their games on PC after some time to another audience but still keep their main fans happy by having it there first for some time. I think Spider-Man 2 came a bit quicker due to the Insomniac leak and a unofficial PC port being leaked online. 1-2 years exclusivity keeps the console base happy while the PC base who often say they don't care can wait.
