Expensive steakhouses are overrated

OP..

I am not completly sold on expensive steakhouses. Granted, some of them are nice, but it isn't a must for me.

I am fine going to a lower level chain steakhouse restaurant like Sizzler, Black Angus or Outback. My lady feels the same which is a blessing for me.

But, I have had a Wagyu steak which was the best steak I have had so far from a semi fancy restaurant. I also down to hit up Sam's Club, Costco or one of my local grocery stores and buy a steak or two to grill.

Fancy smancy steakhouses are cool for special occasions, but definitely not for something like a first date!

Just my opinion...

It was cooked perfectly but tasted bland. Needed a lil kick.

Where did you go and which cut did you order? Filet Mignon is bland if not properly seasoned or without some sort of compound butter.

If you want a flavor other than steak then next time either get the coffee rubbed or a side of whiskey peppercorn sauce. Whiskey peppercorn sauce will set off any bland steak.

Man if I gotta do all that what’s the point of paying $90 a plate. fukk outta here b. Good thing I didn’t pay a dime tho. Coulda went to outback if I gotta do all them extras. Got NY strip. Was good. Not great. But my expectations were high as fukk so maybe I’m not being fair.

Filet Mignon actually is an overrated cut of steak imo. It's just the tenderloin cut off of a porterhouse.
I'm no butcher so i might get this wrong. correct me if wrong.
But basically a porterhouse is a T-bone and a Filet Mignon that haven't been separated. Thing is bone add's more flavor, so i'd rather have the bone in portion, ie: the T-bone.

Texas Roadhouse is damn good and on the cheaper side. Get you a nice ass steak, side, and some drinks for $40.
Yeah Texas Roadhouse was way better than the place I went called the palm. They actually use seasoning. I guess they don’t do that so you can taste the quality of the meat, pause.
