Honestly you don't have to like Lavar Ball. You don't have to purchase his products. You don't have to agree with everything he says. I just find it weird when another black person wishes him to fail. If they not in c00n terrority I can't root for him to fail, this man is going against the big corporations and could change the shoe game forever.

I just cant fathom how walking away from the major shoe companies is a win. I cant. These nikkas handed out 200 milly to James Harden over a 13 year period, to wear shoes.

Yes we all know Lebron and Jordan are not fully compensated for their actual value to Nike. I get that.

But this is MICHAEL JORDAN AND LEBRON JAMES WE'RE TALKING ABOUT. Has Lonzo Ball so far proven to be as much a draw and cultural phenomenon as the both of them?

Because on the outside looking it, it seems like anyone who isnt them is getting damn near overpaid for their deals. And its not like Bron and Mike are getting hoe'd by Nike either.

Nothing more needs to be said then.

Case closed.

We're talking about an extreme case where those guys arent normal players. Do you think Bron and MJ arent getting their due because Nike is pulling a finesse job or because theres no way you can pay someone for fame like that?

Keep in mind I DESPISE capitalism and will readily admit that companies will fukk you over in heartbeat. Im not dying on the hill of defending the Free Markets.

But trying to pay anyone on star power is extremely difficult. That shyt cant really be measured especially in a post internet world.

And even better question is, if Lebron and MJ did start and have majority ownership stake in their brands, do you really think theyd get every nickle and dime?

Yeah tbh it's just weird :hhh:

I mean it's c00nish as hell too but it's weird how dudes seemingly proud of it.

But is LaVar Ball any weirder than these White dudes that are failed baseball players that never got passed the minor leagues? Many of those same White dudes turn right around and get married and have children and they push their sons to become major league baseball players. Major league baseball and hockey for that matter are full of kids like the Ball boys and fathers like LaVar Ball.

nikkas in the Coliseum love this guy. Just because he's a black man doesn't mean I automatically have to support him. He's a c00n through and through that exploits his children's talents for his own personal gain. It's really that simple. You nikkas can support "your fellow brother" all you want, buy his $495 shoes, buy their jerseys and all that jazz, but I damn sure won't be supporting a damn thing from this family.

I take it that you don't watch much major league baseball and hockey? Because major league baseball is full of players that had father like Lavar Ball. Many of those dads are failed minor league players, but they pushed their kids to become major league baseball players. So Lavar Ball is not different than any of those guys; nor is he is any different than Earl Woods (Tiger's dad) or Richard Williams (Venus and Serena's dad).

Lavar is loud and brash, but he is no different than any other sports father. What I am surprised about is that no one is mentioning is that he appears to be a pretty good father, because his sons names don't show up on police blotters and from all appearances they are decent students and pretty well mannered.

You shouldn't feel the need to support black business if you don't want to.

But also recognize that the lack of successful black owned businesses is the main factor why black people remain economically disadvantaged.

Without our own entities, franchises, syndicates, etc. we will never rise from the economic dumpster we are in right now, as a whole.

So if you are fine with the way things are rignt now, cool. If not, then start a business, support or invest in a black owned business. But don't expect things to get better if you don't.

But what if LaVar Ball has a strategy like the White dude that founded Under Armor? What if he realizes that he could take 200 million over 13 years or make more money by founding his own shoe company, wherein he could make billions for years to come? Business wise how could it not be a better decision to own your own business that you can pass on to your children, versus being an employee for somebody else's business?

Let me clarify: I cant fathom how walking away from the shoe companies AS AN ACTIVE PLAYER is a win (in regards to Lonzo).

The efficiency cant be beat. If youre playing, youre making two paychecks at the same time without doing any of the legwork to run a shoe business.

For me it was never about Lavar. Do your think old man. I just feel it has to play out big for it not to negatively impact Lonzo (and id argue so far it has)
