That's the thing, people try to boast up MJ's era, when the reality is that he played against some :flabbynsick: defenders :foh:

MJ was rarely if ever guarded by the likes of prime Metta; prime Tayshawn, Tony Allen, prime Kobe, Wade, or even Kidd.

Jordan had a frail 6'3 Stockon guarding him :scusthov:

this is some bullshyt you cold knock nikkas on there ass in jordans era

27 to 52 games, again kareem isn't in this argument

All elite HOF centers are better than Jordan. It's a big man's game bro. If you want to say MJ is more skilled, fine. More exciting, fine. But true elite bigs are always more impactful.

Russell
Shaq
Kareem
Hakeem

MJ maximized his talent/skills and was ruthless and IMHO, Wilt didn't. Wilt was a freak of nature and his overall numbers are great but no way he should have just 2 championships. Wilt was 7'1'' averaging 50/25 and still let 6'10'' Bill Russell get the better of him most of the time. I believe if Wilt had MJ's drive/determination, Wilt would have won 10 championships at-least. I don't believe Wilt was ever considered the "leader" of those 2 championship teams he was on. West was the leader on that '71 Laker team and Billy Cunningham/Hal Greer were the leaders of that '67 Sixer team and we all know MJ was the undisputed leader of the Bulls...

This is true, I remember a video highlighting the rivalry between Bill Russell and Wilt Bill said that while Wilt would brag about stats and getting more points Bill was focused on the win.

I can't even believe some of the blasphemy being posted about MJ. I will begin this post with a story of da gawd.

One of the best stories comes after an exhibition game in Seattle before the Bulls' first title. Rookie guard Gary Payton had fared well against Jordan, and the two had a chance meeting at a Seattle nightclub after the game. Payton thought it was wise to taunt Jordan:

"I've got my millions and I'm buying my Ferraris and Testarossas, too."

This is what happened the next time the Bulls met the Sonics, this time in the regular season:

"The first time Payton has the ball, Jordan stole it, drove for a lay-up and was fouled. The next time Payton had the ball, Jordan stole it again and drove all the way down the court and slammed for a 6-0 Bulls lead. The third time Payton had the ball, Jordan destroyed his dribble; Scottie Pippen came in to steal the ball and hit Bill Cartwright for a lay-up and Seattle coach K.C. Jones took the rookie out of the game. Jordan had 33 points and seven steals before the end of the third quarter."

The second thing I will leave you with, is a simple table of statistics.

He outscored both wilt and kareem in the playoffs, in only 19 more games he had 2,380 more points than wilt.

In 58 LESS games he had 225 more points than kareem

33.4 ppg in the playoffs??:ohlawd:

In short,

MICHAEL JEFFREY JORDAN IS THE GOAT AND ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE

Jordan plays basketball better than anyone in the world does anything else.

Watch 50 or 100 (or 500) of his games and realize that he is the undisputed GOAT

as great as Magic, Bird, Kareem and Wilt were, they just can't compare to Michael Jordan the gawd.

Lol, Wilt is one of the more overrated players in league history.

His stats are inflated by him playing in an era where you didn't try to take the best shot, but instead you wanted the quickest shot. Both his scoring and rebounding are inflated because of this, just look at the total of available rebounds in Wilts games and compare it to now, it's ridiculous.

If Jordan played in a league which had the same pace as the one Wilt played in, he would be putting up more impressive scoring numbers than Wilt most likely.

MJ is a product of marketing. Also you guys have to consider what Jordan did is pretty incredible. A GUARD taking over the league like that AND winning 6 championships with those weak centers he played? In a center dominated by a handful of HOF centers? That is pretty incredible when you think about it.

Other notable guards:
Magic won 5...Kareem played a huge role
Kobe won 5...Shaq and Gasol played huge roles
Stockton never won one even with Karl Malone (More Props to MJ)
Payton never won one even with prime Shawn Kemp (Again, MJ)
AI never won one
T-Mac never got out of the first round

Jordan had to go through the Knicks with Ewing, The Heat with ZO, and to some extent Mutumbo. He was lucky IMO that SHAQ, DRob, and Hakeem were all in the West...I still till this day claim that if he had to go through THAT trio? He would have probably finished with 4 rings.

Big men still win championships for the most part in this league. LeBron is a freak of nature so its hard to categorize exactly where he fits just yet. That dude is a monster. IF Memphis should go to the NBA Finals then I will be a bit clearer where I can place LeBron all-time. He would be facing 2 beasts still in their prime. If they face the Spurs its a bit more difficult as Duncan is not in his prime anymore, but still a solid player.
